Cassidy had four books with her that she was keeping a close eye on.

One was the Yoga book from last week that had started the revolution. (She might have been reading and studying it since finding out what Yoga was.) She also had the Tai Chi book that had been the first to start throwing books off of the shelves. She figured that as long as she had the ringleaders in her possession, the other two armies would behave themselves. (Threatening to put cold spells on them had also guaranteed their good behavior.) The other two books were on chemistry and hand-to-hand combat.

These two were probably related in someway in Cassidy's mind thanks to classes.

So far, there was peace in the shelves of the library. If the books had any sense, they would continue to behave while the witchling studied.

"Good afternoon, class!" The students would find the usual classroom much in regular order with the exception of a long table off to the side with various large bowls and platters on it. Each was covered, for the time being, and Jane was at the front of the class with a piece of chalk in hand to start the lecture.

"I hope you all had fun last week exploring the jungles! I know I always do! Unfortunately, this class will not be quite as adventurous in the traditional sense, but you'll find there will be something exciting later on, nonetheless. We will share some of our stories of the exploring in just a moment, but, first, I should like to tell you all about the primate's diet.

If you give a monkey a banana... )

"And so, that brings us to our activities for today. I'm going to pass out list of our primate friends and I'd like us to have a look at their characteristics, habitats, and anatomy and discuss how we can determine what their diets might consist of. And then I hope you didn't eat too much for lunch today, because I have a treat! The table over there has a variety of different foods common in the primate diet, so that we can first-hand have the experience of what they find particularly tasty! There's all sorts of stuff, and so you can be safe or you can be adventurous, but we can snack as we share our tales of exploring from last week.

"Any questions?"

Snacks and drinks were ready and available, as always, and Ariel was bouncing, eager to get started on today's Glee Club meeting. So, really, everything was pretty much business as usual.

"Hi, guys! Welcome back! I hope your weeks have been going well. Today's going to be really simple. Quinn mentioned last week that it might be a good idea to do a concert when there's a lot of people on island, like a Parent's Weekend, or Graduation Weekend, and I think that makes so much sense! And if it's Graduation Weekend, that gives us lots of time to work on some really great pieces and really impress them! So, today, I want to know what sorts of songs you guys like or would like to perform, so that's what we've got today. Whatever you want to sing, sing! And then next week, we'll start narrowing in on maybe what'd be good to work with. If," she giggled, "we're not all too distracted by Valentine's Day!"

"Everyone look under your chairs, please," Anakin said as his class arrived. A third of the students going by how they sign into class would find a bag with a full-sized chocolate bar waiting for them. A third would find a bag with a fun-sized chocolate bar. A third would find nothing at all.

"Anyone feeling a little ripped off right now?" he asked rhetorically. "Two minutes ago no one had any candy and everyone was fine. Now I haven't taken anything away from anyone, no one's any worse off than they were when they walked in the door, and some of you are thinking very nasty things about me. Some of you have more than you did when you came into the classroom and still feel like you've been given an unfair deal. Isn't envy fun? Under its grip we never concentrate on the gifts we have been given. We focus instead on what others have that we want," Anakin said. "It's entirely a question of attitude. Today's question: how would someone capitalize on that very human failing if they were seeking to manipulate others?"

"Hey guys, sorry about handwavily canceling class last week. Something came up mun completely forgot, oops! but it's been taken care of," Summer explained. "Today, we're going to touch upon seas monsters of the deep. The ones we'll discuss today are thought to be complete myths but there's a good possibility versions of these monsters might exist in a different world somewhere." If there was one thing Summer had learned from Fandom, it was that anything was possible.

There be monsters ahead. )

"So, do you believe these sea monsters exist? Is there any truth to these myths?" Summer liked to think so.

Today's class met again on Hook's special simulated ship in the Danger Shop.

Boo Box! )

He'd have clapped to get them to go, but obviously he could not.

Anyone expecting a vast, impressive landscape was going to be very disappointed today. The Danger Shop looked like a living room. There were chairs and tables and shelves and couches and other things you would normally find in a living room. Off to one side was a kitchen with a big table and a dining room with another big table and the usual chairs.

There was a good chance he could have simply done this class in an actual classroom to the same effect, but that would have meant not getting to tinker with the Danger Shop controls.

The Doctor was perched on a wooden chair near the window on the far side of the room. "Hello!" he called. "Don't touch the floor!" he warned, holding out a hand as if to keep them from stepping into mortal peril. "The floor is lava! The carpets, the linoleum in the kitchen, even the tiles in the bathroom are lava. The only safe parts are the furniture. Quick, get yourselves to safety!"

He was ignoring the part where safety was outside the room as well. That spoiled the fun.

[OOC: The floor is lava!]

Lucas was leaning against his desk at the start of class today. Next to him was one of his stuntmen. The stuntman was dressed in black with white greasepaint on his face (but not on the chinstrap beard because that wouldn't be cool).

"Today we're going to talk about mimes," Lucas said. "Miming is a centuries old art of expressing emotion, action, and objects by not talking and poking at the air. Go ahead, Rusty."

Rusty the chinstrapped stunt mime started miming a box closing in on him. And just when the box was getting really believable, Lucas turned around and punched Rusty in the face, knocking him over the desk, knocking Lucas's chair over, too.

ACTION! )
