Today, the class found themselves on a pier by a large lake. Moored at the end of the pier were what looked like fibreglass rafts with bike seats attached to them.

"This class, you'll be using pedalboats, also known as waterbikes. They're fairly easy to pick up steering wise, even if you'll be putting in some effort to propel them." Bond indicated a series of buoys bobbing out in the water. "Once you've gotten a feel for them, there's a course for you to steer through."

"Alright, kiddies," Kūkaku started class without any particular pomp or procedure, as usual. "If ya haven't done so yet, pass yer homework forward and the twins'll come around and pick 'em up. And then we're gonna get right into today's topic, which is stoichiometry."

And, yes, I had a hell of a time spelling that. )

"Sometimes, practise with this sorta thing helps, so I've got a little practise quiz you can take if ya feel you need more work, but, essentially, what I want ya all to do today is partner up and work puttin' together safe compounds, perfectly balanced to not leave anything left over, allright? If ya want, ya can stick to just practising balancing the actual equations, but that's boring, and we've got the stuff, so give it a try by practising gram to mole conversions, and try to do so without sputtering plasma everywhere or blowin' up the school, yeah? Any questions?"

Today the class was held in a regular classroom, with no graves or shovels or anything else like that around. Just a man holding a cup of coffee, looking tired.

Which probably came as a relief after last week's hard labor.

Hot chocolate and comfy pillows to sit on in the middle of the room with a teacher beaming peacefully at his students? Must be Tuesday!

"Hello, little ducklings ♥," Shunsui greeted the students with his usual warmth. "I hope you enjoyed last weeks activities ♥! If any of you felt inspired to continue your new hobby outside of class, I should love to hear about it ♥. But, today, I figured we would have a discussion, about the very fundamentals of what we are talking about ♥. We dove right in with Jainaism and Martin Luther King, Jr., which means we have yet to actually define peace. Pacifism itself is an opposition to war or violence. Is that essentially the crux of the meaning of peace? Or is there something more to it? Let's explore ♥.

If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other. -Mother Theresa )

"In general, these are very large topics, but it is important to consider them and look at them if we are to embrace the art of pacifism and achieve peace, be it in our personal worlds or in the wider world around us ♥. This has also been an extremely quick overview, which much left out, but that is where you all come in ♥. What are you own personal philosophies on peace ♥? Your societies'? Do you agree with the tenants in which you were brought up, or not? What defines peace to you and how do you best achieve it, within yourself or within the world around you ♥? What obstacles present itself in obtaining your ideal of true peace ♥? No wrong answers, of course ♥! Just a discussion to help understand and maybe open our minds and eyes to perspectives that may not be our own ♥. Who would like to start ♥?"

Class today was meeting in the Danger Shop, which had been converted to a botanical garden -- open walkways, ponds, trees, and lush plant life peeking out from every corner. As for the teacher herself, Rikku seemed a little more tired than her usual, but she was still smiling, if not bouncy.

Rikku smiled at her students. "If you have any questions, or want to learn more, you can come pester me while we're walking around, or talk to me after class. Otherwise, enjoy."

This week seemed like the perfect time to take advantage of working in a library, and spend her shift getting lost in a good book.

She'd chosen the first book of the King of the Bracelets trilogy, having heard that it was considered a classic, but was having trouble getting into it. The bracelet was dangerous, and so they were taking it and ... walking to a bar, a few towns over. That was all that had happened, yet, this far into the book.

Maybe she was being too impatient. She was going to settle in and give it time to see if the story might pick up, later.

Once again, the class met in the Danger Shop mocked up to be a mall. This time, Cindy was waiting by a bench in between an ice cream shop and a clothing boutique. "So, last week, you learned what you could buy with $500," she said, giving the students a grin that could only be described as 'shark-like.' "But that's only half the lesson. Having money is one thing. Earning it is another. So, today, you all have jobs."

Was that a shiver going down everyone's backs? Because it should be.

"So, today we have two options: food service--" she pointed to the ice cream parlor "--and retail." She pointed across to the clothing store, which looked to be having a sale. "Elphaba and Cally, you two are assigned to the boutique. Warren and Rilla, you two are working at the ice cream parlor." She glanced at her watch. "And according to the time, you're all about five minutes late for your shifts. You might want to dash. Both stores look pretty busy."

Hers was an evil laugh.

"At the end of the hour, we'll reconvene and discuss what you've learned."
