raspberryturk: (Come again?)

"You ain't gonna see it comin'," Reno announced, the moment the butt of the last student to enter the classroom hit the chair. "I don't care if you been watchin' it fallin' down on your heads for weeks, I don't care if you were warned on the news, I don't care if you're the reason it happened or if you put your life on the line to keep it from happenin' or if some kinda magic vision popped into your head an' showed you exactly what tomorrow was gonna look like, yo. I don't friggin' care."

Apparently, Reno's caring reserves were running on empty, today? )

When students arrived in the Danger Shop today, they'd see an obstacle course, modeled after rooftops and walls, about six-to-ten feet off the ground, foam mats all over the floor.

"Good afternoon," Ghanima said cheerily. "Today we're looking at remaining mobile in an unfamiliar urban environment. To this end, we are studying parkour, or l'art du déplacement."

When lost or being pursued in an unfamiliar city, sticking to the streets is the equivalent of painting a target on your back. )

"So, today, you'll be trying it out on a smaller scale," she said, going over some of the basic moments with the students. "For those of you that manage this course, I'll switch the Danger Shop over to an actual urban environment, and you can feel free to take a run at a slightly more realistic scenario."

Once again, it was as nice a day as Aquaman had hoped for today's class, he had still invited his students out of the home ec room and into the great outdoors for some fresh air and aquatic appreciation. And basket weaving.

"Good afternoon!" he greeted them brightly, on the day of one of his favorite classes ever. "I hope you're ready to kick off your shoes and roll up your pants...or skirts...because today, we're getting in the water! In the water is one of my favorite places to be; it's rather appropriate, as the water is my home! Today's a bit of a break from the typical maitenence of hearth and home, a bit of a project to work our minds and fingers and provide not only something beautiful, but something very functional as well. Today we're weaving baskets! Underwater!"

Underwater Basket Weaving! )

Aquaman clapped his hands together, drawing in a deep, pleasant breath of the wonderful seaside air. "Well, then, weaving wonders, let's get started!"

"Oh, and I've almost forgotten! When you've finished weaving your baskets, I have all these great pipe cleaners and puff balls I bought the other day to decorate them with!"

Henry had taken himself to see some movie Gomez wouldn't shut up about over the weekend.

He'd liked it. A lot. He didn't see many movies (they weren't quite as bad a time travel risk as the flickering of TV was, but they were still a risk), so he tended to spend a fair amount of time time thinking about the ones he let himself see. This one had him wondering what dreams were, and what reality was, and spending a fair amount of time reading about lucid dreaming back in the stacks in between visitors to the library.

The Fandom High Library & Film Appreciation Society was open for business.

The classroom was teacherless again. "Mr. Bond is still out of town." So Kyle assumed. He'd probably fallen down a well. "We're supposed to do gadgets but," he looked at Rose, "that's not really our thing. Combat is, so we're going to do that. Or talk about what we would do if we couldn't adapt and everything else we learned in the class didn't work. Classrooms aren't good for throwing each other around and I don't know what you guys like at fighting. We'll leave the gadgets for when Mr. Bond is back. I'll go first. My style is hit and run. Do the most damage in short bursts and get out of there alive."

When the students arrived in the Danger Shop, they found themselves facing an enormous pair of glass doors guarded by Stormtroopers. Anakin, cloak sweeping the ground behind him, entered through the glass doors.

"Welcome to your next challenge," he said. "Sometimes on a mission, the only way in is through the front door, and you might need information you will just not have access to to get in." He swept his hands out to point at the door. "Like today. This is a mid-level government building. You need to get past the security on the other side of those doors, using identification you do not have. The only thing you will have is your attitude, your natural gifts of persuasion and the contents of the wardrobe room over there, which does not contain weapons." He smiled. "I found that a long cloak and a 'don't kriffing mess with me' attitude works seven times out of ten."

The other three times, he used mental persuasion, but he wasn't going to bring that up in a class with students who might not understand how Force-abilities worked.

"The security guards will be played by the TAs and myself, with varying degrees of attentiveness, just as you would have with real security guards." He gave them all a tight smile. "Let's see how you do."
