The class was meeting in the Danger Shop today because it was extremely hot outside and Fraser thought it better for what he had planned.

After a handwavey note was sent out to meet in the Danger Shop, Sophie opened the Shop to reveal a bar. One with dartboards, pool tables, and a poker game going on in the back.

"One of the easiest things to do in the world is to hustle. That is, lure the unwary into games of supposed chance by pretending to lose. Most of these games are actually games of skill, and therein lies the trick; you not only have to become skilled at one of these games, but skilled enough to lose or win at will, and give the appearance of it only being luck. Not the simplest thing to do."

"Most of these hustles work better with an accomplice, a 'roper' as it's called, to win money from you in the beginning, in order to make it look like like you're less skilled than you are. Pick a game, and either attempt to spot the inside man and roper, or pick an accomplice and attempt to fleece someone yourself."

Again, the class met in the Danger Shop. This time, when the students stepped in they found themselves in a stately dining room, like a four star restaurant. A large circular table had just enough chairs for each of the students and the two instructors. The table itself had stacks of pies, of every sort. Apple, cherry, banana cream, French silk, everything but meat pies. They'd just not fit in with the idea of today's activity.

"After the serious weekend events and the nature of last class, I thought you all could use a little levity," Price said.

Ashley smirked. "Don't worry, we have stuff so you can clean up after class."

"So today, it's thrown objects. And instead of grenades or knives, its pies," Price chimed in, grinning. "The only class we'll have you facing off against one another. The idea is simple, really, you just--" A pie was suddenly in Price's face, courtesy of Ashley Magnus. Comically, Price peeled the pie pan off his face, then cleared out spots of the whipped cream that covered his mug so he could open his eyes. "You just do like that, really. Have at it!"

There was a woman dressed all in black skintight leather standing next to Dean when the class filed in.

"Hi guys," Dean greeted them. "You're all probably wondering who the hot girl beside me is. This, ladies and gentlemen is my Baby. She's also not usually human, but she's always hot. Usually she's my '67 impala, and I have no problem admitting that I love her. If I didn't, she wouldn't be here like this -- last summer there was a weekend here was a weekend where everything people really really loved became human, like my Baby here. As I'm sure some of you have already discovered, that particular brand of Fandom weirdness is happening again. And before any of you ask, yes, she is who I'm referring to in the title of the last class in the syllabus." He grinned. "Not quite as kinky as you all were afraid it was, is it?

"And speaking of the syllabus, today's class is about how to find someone to do all that stuff you wrote down in your lists last week. Today we're going to concentrate on the hooking up part of the class title. )

"Good morning, everyone," Steve said. "Today we're going to work on making a coil pot. This is, again, something humans have been doing for thousands of years, so. Shouldn't be too hard." One corner of his mouth turned up. "Famous last words, right?" Steve walked them through the process of rolling out a snake of clay and coiling it into pot form, and then left them to it. "Have fun, guys."

((Sorry this is so horrendously late! My internet access has been like, "LOL no," for no apparent reason. But it's working now!))

Having no particular object he loved enough for the most recent oddness to affect him, Blackagar was blissfully immersed in a book on baked goods. It was taking a break from a biography on some wrinkled little creature called Churchill, so he was allowed.

It was good to 'work' in the library. So many things to do there.

The Danger Shop was not a disaster zone this week. In fact, it looked a lot like Serenity Cove's beach, littered with people swimming and sunbathing and picnicking.

"Ladies, gentlemen," Hawkeye greeted, arms spread wide. "And anyone who doesn't fit into the first two categories. I'd mention you all specifically, but we have work to do. And by work, I mean that your dates await you. )
