The Danger Shop was a new take on the gymnasium this week, having taken on the appearance of an ice skating rink with some built in bench seating and a large screen for the movie. As they entered, students were ushered into the locker room to change so they didn't freeze during the film.

Once they'd filed in, suited-up, and taken their spots on the benches, Ronon began speaking from where he was hulking next to the screen. "Ice Skating. They say it's a sport, I say it's more like having an attack walking across the pond. But you guys get to try it. The sport part makes some sense, but we're gonna work on figure skating today."

"This film shows how professional partners are supposed to do it. At least half of you have powers, so I'm expecting you can manage to hold your own with skates. If not, there's a rail on the edge you can cling to or you can watch from the bench." Ronon gestured at the screen as The Slashing Blade began playing for all. "I know, the title's misleading, but that's Earth for ya. Now, go get skating."

Amazingly, Loki had remembered that he had a class to teach this Monday. This new schedule was going to take some getting used to, that was for sure. But, he was there and he was standing in front of a large table filled with every single arts and crafts supply you might need.

"Welcome back," he greeted, nodding at them all. "So, today, we're actually going to do something. Now, I'm still getting caught up on past notes and lessons so I can't pick up there yet but I can give you an assignment dealing with another magical creature. The fucking squirrels. Yeah, you might think they're just regular squirrels but these squirrels report the fucking news. That's not normal."

Of course, they got the news wrong a lot of the time but that didn't matter. Using squirrels worked for this lesson.

"So, your assignment for today is to build the squirrels something nice," he said. "A house, a gym, a car, something, and then you're going to put it outside and see if a squirrel takes it. You don't have to sit and watch for hours but check up on your creation and see if it's being used. That's your homework. Make anything you want, don't glue yourself to each other and have fun."

Loki himself was not an arts and crafts guy so he was just going to watch and maybe mess around with the glue gun.

The lab tables had potatoes, wires, nails, and cheap digital clocks on them this morning. One of these things was not like the others.

"We're making potato batteries today," Tyler said, explaining the odd assortment. "What you're doing is using the potato to transfer electrochemical energy. Now, a battery is a device that converts chemical energy directly to electrical energy.[21] It consists of a number of voltaic cells; each voltaic cell consists of two half cells connected in series by a conductive electrolyte containing anions and cations ...." He went on for a while, thoroughly explaining the science.

"The potato's not important. The potato's just acting as a buffer between the zinc in the nails and the copper in the wire. You can do pretty much the same thing with lemons, pickles, apples ... you get the idea."

"Pair up and use this handout to make potato batteries. Extra credit if you find a better way to do it."

When the students came into the Danger Shop today, they'd find long, low tables with cushions to sit at, and shelves with arts and crafts materials along the walls.

"Good morning, class," Ghanima said as they entered. "Today we study Shinto, or kami-no-michi, which is the natural spirituality of Japan and the Japanese people. The word Shinto, meaning "Way of the Gods," was adopted from the written Chinese combining two kanji: "shin", meaning gods or spirits, and originally from the Chinese word shen; and "tō", or "do" meaning a philosophical path or study from the Chinese word tao."

Even the wishes of an ant reach to heaven. )
