The Danger Shop was set up as the basic racetrack again today, and was set for nice, sunny weather. In fact, at first, the most noticeable aspect of the class setting would probably be the assembly of cars.

"Many people claim that the difference between good drivers and bad drivers is that good drivers do not get into dangerous driving situations, and bad drivers do," Ziva said. "I do not believe that this is the case. Even the best drivers can suddenly find themselves in a bad situation, because of other people driving poorly, or because of circumstances that are out of their control. The real difference between good drivers and bad drivers is that good drivers know how to react when they are about to have an accident, and can either minimize the potential damage, or prevent the accident from occurring altogether."

For the record, she was very good at that first option. The second one, not so much. "It is difficult to react properly to a dangerous situation the first time you are having the experience. I could stand here and tell you how to turn the steering wheel if you lose control of your car until I am blue in the head, but the first time it happens to you, you will not remember a word that I said. In order to help you become good drivers, you are all going to take part in some dangerous driving experiences for what I hope is the first time today, so that if they happen to you while you are driving on actual roads, you can be able to avoid panicking, and make the right choices to stay safe."

Sam didn't waste any time in getting things set up for the day, and then he was back at the computer, seeing if searching the internet from Fandom would bring up anything that could help Peter. He was hoping that the lack of e-mail last night meant that Peter was celebrating a political victory for Nathan, but he couldn't shake the feeling that Sylar and Peter were circling closer to each other. If that was going to happen soon, he wanted to be ready for the call for help.

[You know what? Let's go OCD free today, and see if the world comes to an end or anything.]

Summer had leftover Halloween candy sitting on the desk in the front. Her students were more than welcome to snag as much or as little as they wanted. She was fairly certain she wasn't the only one who'd had a candy coma, so to speak.

"I hope you all had a great Halloween," Summer smiled, leaning against the desk.

Summer passed out a couple of handouts on the subject, her lecture complete.

[OOC: OCD coming up. Sorry about the late post. Had to pick up my uncle from the hospital -- minor leg surgery. Again, I apologize!]

"So, I've noticed folks don't wanna play all the reindeer games here. This makes me a very sad panda, people. Look at my sad panda face."

It was covered in a mask, Deadpool.

"Regardless! Today I want you all to partner up and spar. Annd none of that foam weapons, hanging out in the quad on a Saturday to hit each other with your magic missiles and your tempting geeky ways of working out the pent of frustration. Dear god I want a foam sword to see if I can brain someone with it."

Sometimes his mind worked in interesting ways. But he shook that off. "So get to work!"

When class started, Jim went straight to the board and wrote four names.

George W Bush
Dwight D Eisenhower
Ronald Reagan
Franklin D Roosevelt

"These four men have something absolutely amazing in common. Well, actually, they have a lot of things in common, but let's see if you can figure out what the amazing thing is. All of them are white guys who became President. That's a good starting point. They're four of the five Presidents who have served at least two complete terms since Woodrow Wilson back during World War I. We're getting a little closer there. Three were Republicans but one was a Democrat, so that's way off."

"Oh, also, they were all cheerleaders." Jim paused and gave the camera a quick smile. "That's right, four of the five US Presidents who have served a complete two terms since World War One were cheerleaders in high school or college."

"Eisenhower became the head cheerleader at West Point after he hurt his knee playing three different sports. Bush was the head cheerleader in high school. Neither Reagan or Roosevelt were head cheerleaders, but they were both on their squads. And Roosevelt went to Harvard, so he was an Ivy League cheerleader, which sounds even more impressive even though I have no clue if that means anything special."

"I think the lesson here is clear: never make fun of a male cheerleader because they might run the free world someday."

"Okay, pair up and come up with a Presidential cheer. It can be about our current President, a former President, future Presidents, what it takes to become President, whatever you want. And then, yes, you have to perform them because it's not fun for everyone else unless you do."

"I thought," Steve said wryly, "this being an art class, you might like to mess around with paints for once. So, everyone has oils, brushes, a palette, and a canvas. Go to it. There's no assigned topic this week. Just paint whatever you feel like."
