The class got into the Danger Shop today, and Lily quickly ushered them into a circle on the floor. "Hi, guys!" she greeted them. "Today we're going to talk about school age kids. Okay, technically you all are school age kids, but we're mostly talking about ages seven to thirteen. Think first grade through junior high. By now, your kids have pretty much hit all the developmental milestones you really notice and celebrate. As the kids get oler there's less and less you want to be 'yay' about, and more things people kind of want to shove under the rug and pretend isn't happening, like puberty, and how that one kid who was simply the first grade troublemaker is having his first run-in with juvie by seventh grade. We'll get more into that kind of thing later. Children this age are trying to be more adult. They socialize more, they're starting to feel peer pressure and doing stupid things just like grown ups. They curse like sailors and think they don't notice until their little six-year-old brother starts using the F-word in class and rats their big sibling out when you ask where he learned that word. Pretty much, they now have excuses to start behaving like brats, and you'd be terrified to know how many of them just stay that way.

"But there are good things about the early school years," said Lily. "Unfortunately I can't talk about them at length so while we're here in the Share Circle, you're all going to get to probably make up share one good memory about your years in school from first grade till eighth. And no matter what your trauma, everyone has to have one good thing they remember from back then, even if it was just that they had vending machines that sold Jolt or something. Work with me here. If you want to share annoyances you had in school, that's fine, too. You can talk about anything in the Share Circle, and I'll be over there playing my guitar for you all."

No Skywalker or other Jedi again this week. Instead there was a ninja and a story.

"Today we discuss a story about a sort of justice," Temari told the class dryly. "A king who has his own way of punishment and reward for guilt or innocence. The person accused had the choice of opening one of two doors to meet his fate. One held a tiger and the other held a woman to be married."

...yeah.

"Not exactly the reward I would like, but if one enjoyed that..." She shrugged. "The story is that the king's daughter fell in love with a man below her station, and--as punishment to him for this crime--he was forced to choose between the two doors. The princess knew which door held what and had the choice of which to tell him to pick. A stupid story if you ask me. They should have just run off before it got to that point."

Never mind that. "Break up into groups and decide what the princess told him to pick."

"We're covering Mexican food today!" Marshall said, clapping his hands together. "The one thing that always hits the spot. Until you have to go to the bathroom."

Nice, Marshall.

"Mexican food is, obviously, food that originated in Mexico. It's pretty popular in this country since it's so close..." Marshall paused. "Kind of makes me wonder why Canadian food isn't more popular. I do love their bacon. Even if it is really ham. Anyways. Most of the stuff you find in restaurants here is an Americanized version of Mexican cuisine, sometimes know as Tex-Mex or Cal-Mex, depending where in the country you are. It's good food that fills you up pretty quick. It's been my experience that you can order pretty much anything in a Mexican restaurant and it'll be good."

Marshall could order anything from any restaurant and he'd think it was good.

"We've got a lot of stuff here: burritos, tacos, empanadas, enchiladas, fajitas, gorditas, quesadillas, tacos, tamales..." Marshall said, pointing at each type of food as he said the name. "And we've also got nachos and churros, which are freaking delicious."

"So, yeah, it's damn good food and they're filled with all sorts of good stuff. You can get pretty creative with it if you decide to make it yourself," he said. "I'd rather just go to a restaurant though because I'm lazy. And you get free chips and salsa at some places. Okay, I've wasted enough of your eating time. Eat up!"

Like every other week, the entrance to the Danger Shop was special and filled with levers and exciting rides for the students of Yzma's Management Theory class.

Unlike other weeks, there was still just a TA at the front of the room, and this week he had a big projector, screen, and folding chairs set up to view it.

"So like, Miss Yzma is still under the weather in a kitten-ish state. I found this movie in the common room and totes think it goes perfect with our class topic. Basically, if you're a shitty manager, be aware that your employees could revolt, hold you hostage and take over your business. Also, Dolly Parton has the most awesome boobs ever. Enjoy!"

Toby took a seat in the back and the room darkened to show meta for Nine to Five in all its glory.
