There was pizza today. Lots and lots of pizza. Pizza with all kinds of crusts and every kind of topping you can imagine. A ton of pizza. Enough pizza for everyone in the class and then some.

Marshall was standing in front of the class with a plate that was loaded with several different kinds of pizza. Yes, he was planning to eat it all.

"Pizza!" Marshall said, holding up a slice. "It's delicious, it has a lot of variety and it's going to be your main staple when you guys get to college. Why? Because it's cheap and you don't have to get off your ass in order to get it. Pizza, as you probably already know, is from Italy and..."

Marshall trailed off and shook his head.

"...look, like you guys care about the history of pizza. I know you just want to eat," he said, chuckling. "So, eat! This is Food Appreciation, appreciate this food."

Marshall certainly was going to.

The Danger Shop was ready with the usual levers and slides and awesome uniforms as like any Yzma-led week, but when they arrived at their destinations there was just Toby, the TA. Oh, and a slight glitch in the Danger Shop program.

But hey, Toby could so do this. He was the sub, in charge of like, making sure class went smoothly despite Miss Yzma's unfortunate kitty-cat take on life. "Hey guys! Miss Yzma is a kitten this week, so I'm gonna like, lead the class in her place. How awesome is that?" Toby was super excited for the opportunity. "She didn't have like, a syllabus, so I decided we should learn about staff motivation." Someone should be taking pictures of the magically nearly-coherent Toby. It could be like a Nessie sighting.

"All managers need, like employees under them, right? So how do we pick the right staff members for our needs? Well, we figure out a description of what we want them to do and make sure they can do it, duh! Like when I got hired by the beyond awesome Miss Bell, she needed someone smart who had good taste at Pixie Dust and I am so totes that. But on top of it, I also met her need of having pretty employees who could up-sell to customers, so it was like a two-for-one deal. And then she motivated me to do an awesome job by offering discounts, absinthe, and the opportunity to set stuff on fire. But like, before that, in Dante's Cove I was a bartender and I was so totally unmotivated. The guy who owned the bar was a jackass and way too touchy for my tastes. He didn't pay that well, either so I tended to like, slack off and not get much done when there was down time without customers. So how would you motivate someone who's not interested in their job? How would you wanna be motivated as an employee?"

Toby was almost making sense here, but he got the feeling he was talking a lot. "Anyways, let's talk about motivation and what work-" Toby was interrupted by a bucket of green slime falling from above onto his head. "WHAT IN THE HELL?" Toby looked all around himself, wondering what had just happened and why. "OMM this is so like, totes embarrassing. You dudes start talking about motivation and I'll be over here with a towel!"

[THE WORD OF THE DAY IS "WORK"! Say it and mod your own SLIME!]

"Good morning, everyone. Have a seat," Zayne said. All of the desks had been pushed against the wall, so there was plenty of room on the floor to sit down, just like Zaye was doing. "Master Skywalker isn't here today so I'll be your instructor. Today we talk about sloth. It's a trait where someone feels disinclined to perform work or expend effort. Or more simply, it's a case of extreme laziness. When you live a slothful life, not only don't you accomplish much of anything, but you waste your talents. I'm not a great fighter and I still have a lot to learn about the Force in my training, but I've always been pretty good with people and I'm a good at piloting a swoop bike. I could have given up early on when people first started criticizing my Jedi abilities. But in large part thanks to accepting what I'm good at and giving an effort towards improving what I'm bad at, I still have a chance to reach my dream of becoming a Jedi Knight."

"So, with that in mind, we're going to look at sloth from two directions today. Partner up and tell someone what talents you use here in Fandom towards some goal, even if the goal is just meeting people or improving your cooking or something. And then once you've shared, you can come to me to get a pillow and blanket and take a refreshing nap for the rest of the period, just like a good sloth would."

[OOC: Standard daytime availability from me. Which is to say, none. I'll be around this evening.]

Still bruised and humming happily from Fight Club on Sunday, Anemone was in a fantastic mood, right up until she opened the doors to the library.

There was... slime. Bits of slime. Trails of slime. Considering that Anemone had spent most of her last shift cleaning the library, including Special Collections (or as much of it as the Collection would tolerate), she was not pleased.

"I want hazard pay," she informed Gulliver, shaking the mop at him as she tried cleaning up the goo. "If this stuff is toxic and I start mutating, somebody's gonna pay."

There was a pool table in the music room.

Chad was looking at it and wondering how he hadn't noticed it before. It looked a little weak on one side, and that was how he realized that he'd been using it as something to lean against in previous meetings.

After a little bit of searching, he'd also managed to unearth some cues and the billiard balls, as well as a French horn, a little plastic harp with broken stringers, seven plastic recorders, a drum mallet, and a tuba.

He didn't know if there was anything that could be done with them, but, hey, they were pretty cool.

"I found a pool table," he told the group once they met. "That's pretty cool. I'm also going to talk to the guy at the bar about April 7th for the karaoke contest, and I'll buy everyone drinks that day, too, since it'll be my birthday."

And that was about all he had to say, so it was time to...play music and stuff. And maybe some pool.

[[ YAY TO [livejournal.com profile] raspberryturk for reminding me of the pool table in this roooom, la! ]]
