Sometime after his encounter with the Cylon, Lee limped into the library. He'd wrapped his ankle up as best he could, taken some pain pills and that was all he was going to do for now. He'd do more later.

For now, he could get off his ankle and relax in the quiet, quiet library.

It was the last day of the tournament, and everything had come down to one match -- a game of chess. A lone spotlight too brightly illuminated the regulation chess board, timer and chairs at center stage, and the space surrounding it seemed very bare and empty.

Once more into the breach, dear friends, once more...  )

On the causeway, a small group of adventurers appeared (as well as anyone else who was at Nemesis at the time).

Once again the sky glowed red, which was followed by a burst of white light from the center of Nemesis Island.

The buildings and school began to morph and change as the light turned into tendrils, reaching out for its inhabitants.

One by one each resident of Nemesis island and academy were captured and bound in the tendrils ... dragging them back to their proper home.

From Fandom Island several screams and howls of protest could be heard as each Nemesis character began to realize that their prize had been lost.

What couldn't be heard was the communication between Fandom and Nemesis...

//Returning Home...//

The machinery beneath Fandom went to work once more and the island transported itself back off the coast of Maryland.

Fandom had returned home.

Mike was looking like he'd been out way too late last night. There had been an all-female AC/DC tribute band playing a club on the mainland, and he'd really enjoyed it. There were dark circles under his eyes and he hadn't shaved. "Hey guys," he said, handing out a pair of handouts. "Slight change of plans today. Instead of covering cars this week and highways next week, I decided to be lazy combine them both and use two weeks to fully explore both topics. Be sure you read over the information I'm giving you because we'll be discussing it next week. In the meantime, we've got an activity to demonstrate how automobiles and highways improved the ability to travel."

He stopped to chug some coffee before continuing. "Today, if you want to travel from St. Louis, Missouri, to Portland, Oregon, it'll take you about 30 hours nonstop according to Google Maps. Of course, you probably want to stop and take breaks. In the mid-19th century, though, you would have travel by wagon and the trip would have taken months. We're going to play a game called the Oregon Trail and see just how long it takes. Oh, and there's pie for whoever has the shortest travel time."

Ghanima was sitting on her desk as the students arrived, her text placed neatly in her lap.  Exactly like any other day of class.

The moment the last student was seated, she flipped her book open.  "Good morning, class, and welcome.  Those of you who are still injured, please return to the clinic.  Bleeding during class is considered tacky, and I am your teacher, not a tyrant.  It is an excused absence, and you can get the notes from a classmate later."

"For those of you staying, we begin today with chapter three," she said, holding up the book.  "'Attack by Stratagem.'  Considering the events of this past weekend, I find it highly appropriate."

"'Thus the highest form of generalship is to balk the enemy's plans;'" Ghanima recited, watching all of them carefully.  "'The next best is to prevent the junction of the enemy's forces; the next in order is to attack the enemy's army in the field; and the worst policy of all is to besiege walled cities.'  So speaks Tzu.  I'm curious as to how you feel this reflects the events of this weekend."

"Today, we will be having a class discussion."  Ghanima snapped the book shut and dropped it beside her on the desk.  "Mayor Summers acted as our general, and made a choice for the 'army' that some people may disagree with.  I'd like you to look at the third P'ien and tell me what, if anything, you would have done differently."

The Danger Shop today was seeming to finally serve a purpose greater than a classroom for Minsc to slowly demolish. They would still find themselves inside, however, in what looked like a very nice and cozy...and abnormally spacious to make room for the whole lot of them...tavern. A cheery fire crackled in the large hearth, where the smell of something cooking in a large pot filled the room. Minsc was kicked back with his feet up on a table, swigging at a nice mug of apple cider (it was early, after all!) and Boo was settled at his boots with a very familiar water-in-saucer scenario.

When the class filed in, he took a last big swig, clunked the mug down on the table, and let out a long, satisfied, "Ahhh!" Then he stood up to adress his students.

Magical creatures in the household! Including, obviously, the ever-popular teal deer! )

[[ please wait for the OCD has broken all of my dishes and please mind the OOC note! ]]
