If anyone had hoped for good weather for the picnic, their wish had been granted as the day turned out to be sunny and warm. Everything had been cleaned up, spiffed up and bedazzled made as perfect as possible for the new arrivals. They deserved at least a few moments of pleasantness before the weirdness started to sink in.

As usual, there were long tables set up with food and drinks, a table of nametags, and two signs: one listing the Big Sibling/Little Sibling pairings, and one listing rooms and roommates for the new students. With everything in place, the picnic was ready to begin.

Since the area with all the informational signs was bound to get a bit clogged up, more tables and chairs had been set up further away on the lawn. They weren't too far away to get to the food, though. The administration knew better than that by now.

And over here was another section of tables and chairs, still close to the food so no one accidentally starved while trying to avoid the masses.

Mac was behind the desk with, wait for it, a book.

And not of the e-variety.

She was happier now she didn't taste disgusting, but that didn't mean she felt like she was especially missing out by not being sociable at the newbies picnic, either. They'd still be around tomorrow, and hopefully in less concentrated numbers.

There was a stack of library card forms nearby, and if they wanted a tour today, she was around.
