Island hopping he could dig. Turning into a kid wasn't so bad. Even hordes of crawling, slithering things he could handle. This random getting lost? Not so much. "Freakin' island," he muttered, "gonna make me even more crazy."

Blink. Oh. Hi class.

"Uh...glad everyone could make it. Hope it didn't take you too long to make it here." Or you didn't just, you know, find yourself lost in your own house for hours just to suddenly wind up two seconds later in the Danger Shop. At least it was convenient this time?

"So...uhm..." Murdock was a off to a bit of slow start today, but he'd get there. "Mercs. Play an important role in ... certain circles. Like political circles or as some people call 'em Clans. As we covered in class before, merc companies were often used by higher powers in time of war. And as we've seen before, merc teams and companies can come in all sizes. Large scale forces and smaller, more elite teams. Mainly what drives the size of 'em is the kind of need there is. Sometimes, you need large-scale and sometimes, you need smaller strike units." He grinned a bit impishly. "Then you have times where you're short on both, so you have to combine them. One single man, with a lot of firepower." His grin wasn't perhaps on the completely sane side.

"Now, are we ready? Nobody got lost in the last five minutes?" Ignore the look of annoyance at that idea. "Then good! Let's get started."

And he might have to talk with Tyler about that attic...

When entering the Danger Shop today (because there was a handwavy notification) they'd probably note that Charlotte wasn't there.

Instead there was Dale Cooper. And instead of home baked goods there were doughnuts from J'GOB and coffee (LOTS o' Coffee)

"Good morning class," Dale said in greeting. "Ms. York is out of town this week and asked me to cover for her. While I may not be as experienced or knowledgeable as Miss York in this topic, I know one thing that is very important regarding shopping: endurance."

Dale flipped a switch and the Danger Shop provided the backdrop for a shopping mall.

"Today you will be given a list of tasks to complete in a limited amount of time. I suggest you fuel up on doughnuts and coffee. You'll need the energy."

There was a lamp hung on the open door - a beacon in case anyone needed it; Mohinder would have certainly appreciated not looking completely lost earlier in the day.

Mohinder broke off a close and quiet conversation and looked up from his notes and, with a quick glance at the guy sat on a back-turned chair at the side of the classroom, he began, "Good morning. I'm glad to see those of you who've found your way here."

"Catching someone in a lie," Mohinder started. "Not by finding contradictory evidence - that someone wasn't somewhere because of a photo places them elsewhere, but the very act of detecting an untruth." He first summarised the forensic psychology of lies.

So, how do you lie to a mind reader? )

Aly was torn between bouncing and being very, very serious at this. A few workstations around the campfire were set up with tubes, funnels, different powdered chemicals and what looked like gunpowder. Possibly because it was gunpowder.

"What we're going to do is make fireworks," she said with a grin. "We're using live black powder so be careful. This isn't a time to mess around."

She quickly gave everyone the rundown on how to put together Roman candles and falling leaf shells.

Aly grinned.  "Now fireworks are useful for a great many things.  Amusement.  Distractions. They're very good for the latter.  Other things that work well for both distractions and ways to annoy people might be stink bombs and smoke bombs.  The latter's different from the smoke grenades a few weeks ago just by being a bit easier to make."  She pointed to a table where there were quite a few of both varieties.  "Try them out.  Try them away from the main class please.  And as long as you will all use them properly - remembering that gunpowder needs to go in the weapons' locker - you're free to take the fireworks you made or some of the stink and smoke bombs back to the dorms with you."

"Other than that, any questions?  Requests for the last class next week?"

As her students filed in, Mike was curiously absent for the moment. Something was slightly different in her stance, in her tone, even perhaps the atmosphere in the room. She looked more serious.

"Today, class, we will be discussing demons and spirits. I was unsure if they should qualify, as they are largely though to be beings entirely outside of the animal kingdom, beings made of energy and magic and the aether, but as they are such creatures which some like to doubt in certain worlds.

"Not my own, I assure you.

"And because they are different from other creatures which we've covered though can have similar effects as ghosts and some of the other beings, I thought they were worth a class. I should like it known right this moment that I do not approve of demonology in the least, nor will I answer questions pertaining to it's practices. I will not preach to it's wickedness; I will only point out the stupidity of the school and the eventual fate of most who practice such a craft."

She breathed out and offered a smile.

"As for the spirits of nature and others such as these, I will only teach caution and to never think yourself too clever. Now, however, I think we should begin..."
