notanactualfairy: (actually smiling!)

Today, the computers were back on one side of the room, and on the other side of the room were paper forms on desks. "No one told me they were from anywhere else last week," Jean-Paul began, "so I have assumed you are all subject to the United States tax system." His smile? Kind of evil. "Today you will be doing your taxes. Whether or not you actually must file is of course your own business, but this time next week I want to see completed tax forms for all of you. You may use either the paper forms or an electronic system. You will have the rest of the class period to work on this. Begin."

The desks were paired off again, each with a set of tools, and there was a crate full of completely modable spare parts.

Yes, kids, it is project time again, and Glitch was standing at the front of the class looking very delighted by the whole thing. Really, this was probably his favorite kind of class to teach.

"Alright, class," he said with a smile. "Today, you're going to build something out of nothing. Pick up some parts and start to put them together. Don't worry if you can't get it to work or don't have a set design for it. It doesn't even have to have a real function, if you can't find one, heh. The point of this is for you to get an idea of what it's like to start building something with these materials."

There may or may not have been a moment or two where he bounced ever so slightly, but those moments should be ignored.

"And don't forget that after next weeks break, you'll need to be ready to bring in your preliminary designs for your final projects."

Nothing like ending the lecture on something to strike fear into the hearts of his students, though that wasn't entirely intended.

"Good afternoon, everyone," Vala greeted them from her regular perch on top of her desk. Her appearance was slightly different, as was her bearing, which was more regal and imperious than usual. She purposely made no eye contact with any of her students and did her best to look right through them.

"Your world has just been overtaken by a new ruler. Her guards are regularly patrolling your city, or planet, or village. Word is that she's going to be instituting new rules and policies." Vala, naturally, would have been in charge of spreading that word. "Some of these policies will not be to your benefit."

"Your task today," and here she inclined her head in acknowledgement of their existence, "is to convince her to change her mind."

Suddenly her eyes flashed gold and her voice deepened an octave, sounding both mechanical and more powerful.

"Good luck."

She was going to have to do so much drinking after this.

Today Deadpool was feeling distinctly lazy.

He blamed television.

That might be why he put on a video for the class. Full circle, you see. Full circle.

"Before we start on interrigations next week, I wanted you kids to see how aninvestigation goes in real life," He told them seriously.

A beat.

"Well, real life if you're created by Dick Wolfe and love being overly dramatic, at least. Just go with it."

(Mmmm, L&O:SUV. My favorite show about car related crimes.)

Sometime during the night, the dog thing had worn off, and Sam had gone back to being human-shaped. That alone was enough to put him in a good mood as he went to open the library.

The moment the students were seated, Ghanima launched into her lecture.

"In light of the warming temperatures and the scent of Spring in the air," she began, "I've decided to toss you back into the frozen wilderness.  Today, we journey to Northern Europe, to take on Norse mythology."

"According to Völuspá, it will be an axe age, a sword age, shields are cleft asunder, a storm age, a wolf age, before which the world plunges headlong'," she recited, eyes closed as she then repeated the phrase in Norse.  "Yggdrasil, the World Tree, will groan and shudder, shaking from root to limb, and nothing will then be unafraid on earth or in the heavens or in Hel. "  Ghani smiled softly, hopping up to sit on her desk.  "Cheery, isn't it?  Now, let's talk about the end of the world."

[Please wait for The ever popular OCD to go up!  Go play with World-Ending!  The idea for this class brought to you by OOC comments !  Because we all know that World-Ending is BAAAAAAAAAAAAD.]

Biff gestured around the Danger Room. "Welcome to China," he said. Mountains could be seen all around them and it was definitely chillier than it had been in any of the other classes. "Today we begin our study of Buddhism, so you're going to need to change into these robes."

He gestured towards a rack of them and very nicely neglected to mention how his head had been shaved while he'd been a monk. He figured after the blue thing they would probably get upset about being bald, too.

Maybe for finals.

"These are called 'poles'," he continued, pointing to a seemingly endless line of wooden poles staggered in even intervals around the yard and giving Billy a sharp look. "While I was at the temple, kung-fu was a huge part of our daily lives. Well, that and Jew-do, but I'm not teaching that you--it was more Josh's thing. Being in the moment is essential to Buddhism, and it's harder to be in the moment when you're worrying about falling off a pole."

He hopped up on top of one and balanced easily. "When I tell you to, you will hop from one pole to the one in front of you. If the student in front of you doesn't hop correctly, the pole will tip over, they'll tip over and you'll have something comfortable to land on."

He grinned. "But don't think about that. Concentrate on being in the moment. Up you go."
