Fandom Invasions Class #10 (Thursday period 3)

It was a single Peter Petrelli - Peter having absorbed his duplicate early that morning - who was there to lead Fandom Invasions Class.

"Hey," he said, to those students who were there. "Mr. Winchester's understandably busy right now, so you get me today. We're going to go off the syllabus and talk about - " Peter paused as a wave of exhaustion went through him. He leaned against the desk, closed his eyes, and in a moment it was gone as quickly as it came. " - about current events. I know other classes have covered first aid and things like it, so I thought we'd take a different angle."

There was another pause as Peter had to close his eyes again. This time anyone looking would notice that he looked pale, and his hands were shaking. But then in another blink Peter looked perfectly fine. "Um - yeah. Fighting battles is about more than the fighting. The emotional toll can be as bad or worse. It's important to know how to support your teammates. Keep moral up. Be there for them if they get injured or - "

Yep, another pause. This time Peter had to sit down. But, as before, it was gone in a moment. He gave everyone a rueful smile. " - or push themselves too far. No groups today. Let's just sit and talk about how we can all help the support side of things. And, uh - " another pause " - extra credit to anybody who doesn't tell Sam and Isabel I didn't get any sleep last night."

Peter remained seated at the desk. Anyone watching would notice that he kept going back and forth between looking fine and looking like death warmed over. Anyone really watching might notice that the cycle was speeding up.

Or they could be as oblivious as Peter was.

Rose entered the class looking very subdued. She'd be surprised if anyone turned up today, especially considering Recent Events.

"I know you lot won't be up to anything strenous, so I won't be teachin' much just give a brief outline. An' I won't hold it against you if you don't listen." Rose pointed to the television. "I'd just leave the telly on. But if any if you want to talk I'll just be in my table, yeah?"

"That said, Since the entry of the telly, television or as some call it, the idiot box its been a source of endless fascination and discussion, some say the telly is the source of all the violence in the world. Others go on to say the opposite. But I'm not going into that today. I will give you handouts about the subject and test you about it next week. Meantime..." Rose switched on the television, "here's the cast of Mr. What on the Weakest Link. Enjoy."

"But, like I said, if you want to talk, I'm right here."

Library [11/15]

Thursday arrived early again on Thursday, setting Friday up in her office. After yesterday's news, she was more than concerned and kept checking on Friday more than was really necessary. She broke from the usual library rules today by making sure there was plenty of coffee, other drinks and food to go around for anyone who wanted to stop by.

Internet patrons generally call this 'blogging'. Today, I'd like you to write a journal entry. You don't have to hand it in at the end of class, so this is only for your own personal benefit. Try to capture your take on events, how you perceive them and how you feel about them. If you're unable to write, find another method of expressing yourself."
