Construction [Wednesday]

Since he'd passed by the construction site yesterday and was able to pick up on what Xander was doing (and so well, mind you), Fraser gave the order to keep up the noise, the sounds, and to keep them up as loud and as long as they could.

When the students arrived, Fraser waved and pointed to the safety equipment. It was far too loud to talk.

Umbridge's voice is decidedly cheerier than it has been the last several days.

"Hello, children!" She giggled and that's always a sign of good things, isn't it? "I hope you all slept well, took care of your aches and pains and are ready to get back to learning. I, myself, am having a marvelous day. And I look forward to many, many more marvelous days ahead."

More giggling. "Now, then. I would like to announce a change. No, I'm not getting rid of those teachers who have no experience and, thus, are contributing nothing to your education. It's a good change, a change for me. I will henceforth be known as High Inquisitor Umbridge. I expect you to address me by my proper title at all times. Failure to do so will result in immediate disciplinary action."

She smiled to herself. "My office is open should you want to come and chat or bring me a cake. Thank you all, have a pleasant day."

Spies and Spying: Week 6. Period 1

Aly stood in front of the class looking thoughtful as they came in. 

"Over the past five classes, we've talked a lot about different ways to get information," she said.  "But we've never talked about what to do once you have the information.  In general, that's not the spy's job.  The spy simply retrieves the information and passes it up the chain of command.  It's the spymaster or the officer or the politician's job.  But things are rarely that easy, and none of you are actually spies."  She grinned.  "That I know of."

"So how do you know when to act?  How do you know when to act wisely?  When the goal is revolution, the object should only rarely be to just taunt the person in power or draw his attention to you.  You need a plan.  You need a clear objective, and you need to make sure you have as much information as possible before you act."

She raised an eyebrow.  "So take...oh, whatever possibility you wish to discuss and form a plan of action.  Decide what information you need, and how - using the techniques we've talked about - you'd go about getting it."

"I had a different class planned this week," Steve began apologetically, "but things have gone somewhat awry. I talked earlier about what to do if your government and your nation were wrong. Well, it may have reached your notice that the government of this school is wrong. So your assignment for this week is civil disobedience. Have fun. Try not to get in the way of the wand. I am always available if you need help. Dismissed."
