The classroom is blaring with music and it's a jumble of music. As soon as everyone's seated, Rose turns the music down.

"Have I got your attention? Can anyone guess what we're going to discuss today? And no, Mr. Anders, it is not football or any sort of sport. At least, not today. If you say music well you got that a right! Pop music to be exact!"

"Now, see, pop music isn't just the ones we see Britney and her posse belt out but it's broad enough a genre to include a lot of things. Rock, country, dance, techno -- in fact, back then, Frank Sinatra "  Sinatra's music's blaring in the speakers now and Rose shuts it off after a few rounds of 'New York, New York' "was considered pop. Amazing, don't you think? The sixties roll on and now pop music has changed into what we now consider classics bands like the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Simon & Garfunkel break into the scene extending into the seventies creating a disco scene. Think clubs only with scary hair and scary outfits, which of course would bring in the Big, Big, Big mentality of the eighties. This would, of course, usher in the Kings and Queens of Pop -- Madonna and Michael Jackson.

The nineties saw the coming of the boy and girl bands, most popular of all are the Spice Girls (from the old country, don't hurt me, please) and Backstreet boys, from well, this country. " Rose began passing around handouts on pop music.

"Pop music isn't just limited to western sensibilities, other countries have taken the elements of pop music -- songs about love or dancin' , usually all memorable melodies that some times never leave your head-- and made it into their own like Japanese Pop or J-pop,  Korean pop or K-pop, etc.

I want you lot to discuss this and tell me what you think of this genre of music, quite popular these days too."

Monday, February 12, Period Two

Aziraphale appeared to be a bit on the nervous side today, pacing quite a lot more than usual. Other than that, however, the classroom was as usual, with breakfast pastries and hot drinks laid out for the students.

"Today we're going to have a brief discussion, and then I'd like you to meet with your project groups to work on your final projects. I'll be setting up meetings with each project group to discuss your proposals over the next couple of weeks, so please be sure to sign up for a meeting slot on the sheet posted there on the wall. Also, I need to speak with Haruhi Fujioka regarding your absence last week."

There were no treats today, woe and Wilson stood in front of the desk looking more pensive and withdrawn than was his usual attitude but plotting a trip to the Underworld when you were already one short step up from being a demon snack on a regular basis could mess with a guy’s mood.

As the students came in and settled down in to class, Wilson looked up and managed a half smile before he pushed away from the desk and grabbed a stack of handouts.

“Good morning.”

Walking through the rows, he laid out the handouts.

Logan was at his desk when everyone came into the room, and each of the students had a laptop computer, while the coffee machine continued to burble in the back of the room.

"Good morning! So last week I'd asked for your project proposals, and keep in mind those are due next Monday, February 19th.

Logan tapped out a URL that displayed on the large screen behind him. "So, today we're looking at News Stories of the Century. I know not all of us may be on the same timeline here, but I think the headlines speak for themselves in terms of their importance.

"I'd like you to take a look at the results of their poll, in which the public were asked to rank these pages by importance in their opinion. Your assignment is to pick your top five headlines and tell me why, even just briefly. If you agree with the public or the journalists' picks, then just tell me why as well.

"After that, you're free to work on your projects again," Logan said, motioning to a side table where he had laid out supplies for posters and other things and sign ups for equipment of different types all very handwavey, of course. "Or browse the website a bit, if you prefer. I particularly recommend the section on women photographers or the trivia game."

In the gym there was a set up with two nets and funny lines drawn onto the ground. Yondaime stood at the entrance to class, looking not overly sure of himself as he handed out rackets, balls and a handout explaining this weeks lesson to everyone as they came in.

"Good Morning everyone, as you can probably tell this week we're going to be learning about the sport of Tennis." The blond paused to flip through his notes.

Yes, he had to have notes on this one.

"So, uh, tennis is an ancient sport dating back to... a really long time ago and has been very popular throughout the world. You can play individually against someone or in partners. To play is very simple; the ball is served to the opposing player within the boundaries of the court, and then the player returns the serve trying to hit the ball so that the other team misses and they get the points." Yondaime closed his notes and picked up one of the rackets and balls, bouncing it as he walked. Really the points and all didn't matter much to him, it was all in their handout. "I'm not going to go too much into this, as we're only spending this week and next on it and everything is in the handout. There will not be a test, but you will be graded on participation. Warm up and then hit the courts."

As stated in Captain Liberty's E-mail, class is in the Danger Shop this week. "Hope you all remembered your costumes," she greets them. "Because this week you're going to get to work in them. Just a warning, you will be seeing weapons in this class, but they can't actually hurt you."

The room is set up to look like a bank on a regular old Tuesday morning. There are three tellers at the windows, a manager wandering around behind them, and about ten people inside the bank in line. Suddenly the doors open and a man in a ski mask walks in with a gun, yelling "Everybody down!"

That's when Captain Liberty pauses the simulation. "So what you're going to do in this class is try to stop the robbery. You don't have any weapons on your person. At least as far as I know and if you do, Princess Powerful is going to have to give you a detention slip," she says. "You'll go one at a time, make your entrance from the outside, and you can do whatever you need to in order to stop this. Use words, use any powers you have if you want, find something to use as a weapon if you need to. Just remember there are a lot of innocent people standing around. If you don't do that great, the simulation will stop and it's the next person's turn. Any questions?"

Once everyone had taken their turn with the simulation, she says, "Okay, guys, that's it for this week. For next week, I'd just like you to write up a little thing on what you think you did well and what you think you could have done better."

[The bank is totally moddable. Anything you'd normally find there should be in this one. No one's in danger of getting hurt, so everyone should be fine.
This is going up earlyish because I have to spend a huge chunk of tomorrow at work. I'll be around till late tonight, early tomorrow morning, and then pick up pings after work tomorrow.]>small>

Upon entering the Danger Shop, the students would find a brand new Deadmobile waiting for them. They would also notice that it was the same parking lot from before, only this time it was dark out. Keeping the kids on their toes was very important.

There was a small table by the entrance with chocolate and gummy hearts with a note that wished everyone a happy Valentine's Day.

(Mmmm, deliciously Aztec.)

"Morning kiddies! Same routine as last week, only this time we're going to try some night time driving. Less kids darting around, but less visibility and more raccoons and the like running in front of your car, causing you to brake suddenly and send us all careening into a house like a ball of burning metal, killing the inhabitants. Poor, poor little Billy and his family. They're dead now all because you couldn't pay attention to the road. Think of the children." Deadpool looked very disappointed in his students. "Won't somebody please think of the children?"

He gestured toward the candy. "Help yourselves as I take your classmates out onto the road. And remember, no human sacrifices and no boykissy still. Girlkissy, on the other hand, is both okay and encouraged."

If you forgot your car assignment after two weeks, you shouldn't be allowed to drive. )

"Okay. The Great Depression," said Daniel as an introduction. "It was a worldwide economic downturn which started in October of 1929 and lasted through most of the 1930s. It was centered in North America and Europe, but had devastating effects around the world, particularly in industrialized countries and producers of raw materials.

"Today, I'd like for you to choose a different country and summarize the effects that the Depression had on it."
