Yomiko dashed into the library, a few minutes from being late. She tossed her briefcase on her desk, set out a stack of forms on the counter for library aide applicants, then sat down behind the collections desk to catch her breath and actually comb her hair.

"Hi!" Summer greeted the other students. She sounded genuinely enthusiastic.

"So there's good news and bad news. Bad news? Dr. Reid can't be here because she has the flu. Ew!" she continued, horrified by the thought of being sick. "Good news? You get me instead! Although I'm not actually gonna do any teaching because, seriously, I'm not qualified. She left this video for you all to enjoy, though."

When the video ended, Summer handed each student a syllabus and a survey. She certainly didn't contemplate reading the surveys. Nope. Not at all.

The prophecy classroom looks much the way it did on Monday, with the comfy chairs and lounge-like atmosphere. The tea table today is filled with small crust-less sandwiches, and of course more cookies. And tea, obviously.

"Good morning, students. Congratulations on surviving your first week of classes," Zoe said over the PA system. "This is your weekly detention reminder. The following students need to report to the Danger Shop tomorrow morning for detention:

"And this week's lottery winner is Naomi Wildman. Sorry Naomi. It's an odd system we run here.
