Angela unlocked the double doors of the library and settled in behind the counter with a bottle of cranberry juice and a collection of short stories from the New Yorker. The library was open.

There is a loud argument going on in the kitchen. It has been going on for a while and has now basically devolved into one side screaming, "COOKIES!" While the other yells, "MUFFINS!"

A flour covered individual rolls out the food replicator again as no edible food will be coming out of the kitchen today.

Daisy, though pleased with how her turn running detention had worked out, was looking a bit bored in class, today. The usual array of recording equipment had been swapped for displaying equipment and editing equipment, ranging from the old school reel to reel players and editors to several desktop computers loaded with video editing software.

"Okay, two weeks ago I asked you guys to film a scene for your final class project. Today, you're all taking on the most hated role in all of cinema: the critic. We're going to watch each other's scenes and critique them. Thumbs up, thumbs down, love it, hate it, give us a sound-byte we can warp into using in an ad. Then, I want you all to turn your scene into a preview, using some of the things your classmates said to advertise. For example, say I say your scene is 'trying to hard too be like a mix between Casablanca and Home Alone, while failing at being either'. You could say 'like a mix between Casablanca and Home Alone' says Fandom critic Daisy Adair in a dramatic tone, and people will think it's good."

Daisy stepped to the side to get a seat and paused. "Please tell me none of you tried to make a mix between Casablanca and Home Alone. Because that would get you detention, or something."

[ooc: scenes can, of course, totally be handwaved, but I'd love it if each of you would post a quick description for others to snark at react to.]

Callisto looked distracted as she addressed the class. "Clothes and shoes. And we're doing today's class in the water, so if you want to wear your clothes the entire class, be my guest."

The Doctor sits precarious on top of the projector-covered desk, his legs dangling over the edge, barely not knocking into anything vital for the electrical equipment. After everyone gathers, he clears his throat.

"I've been doing a lot of teaching you about various alien species, both friendly and non. But as some of you remember, there's nothing like your own kind to really get you into the worst situations. Really, you run into aliens every so often. It's the people that surround you that should possibly worry you the most."

He patted the projector with a hand. "I won't be needing this today. Today I'll tell you a story of one of my own kind, and a couple of yours. Fellows and ladies who are not the kind you bring home to mother, or really want to meet in a dark alley, either."

And he goes about at length )

"So that's the activity for today, in fact. Get to know one another. Simple, really. One of you asks a question, then you both have to answer that question. Then the other person asks a question. Simple, and easy. Tell the truth, and don't pry too hard, please. And try and group up with someone you'd like to know better, and don't already know well. Got it? Good. And I'll be happy to play along with anyone who wants to do so with me. No assignment this week, and I'll have reports back for everyone on what you handed in last week with me next week, promise."

[ooc: Wait for OCD, please Ready to go for you!]
