There was not a beautiful necromancer clad in the finest silks standing in front of the class today. There wasn't even a much younger version of said beautiful necromancer, back when she was a simple healing cleric, clad in soft linens. Nope. Instead there was a pony.

A very grumpy and disgruntled pony.

"Welcome to Surviving the Zombie Apocalypse," Liliana said, one of her hooves tapping impatiently against the floor. "Normally, this is where we'd do introductions, but those will do a fat lot of absolutely no good considering our current state." Which the island had chosen specifically to interfere with Liliana's class, she was certain of it. "So, we're pushing introductions off until next week and settling down to the meat of the matter." Oh, did you think you were getting out of a lecture simply because you were all ponies? Hardly. That was the opposite of Liliana's style.

Zombies, like cats, are the gods' perfect creatures )

"Over the rest of the semester, many of your classes will be assuming the scenario where your location has been overrun by zombies and you are trying to survive. This class isn't even specifically about how you can fight the zombies and live, but how to navigate a world where zombies and humanity clashed and humanity lost. And before anyone says that's impossible, I invite you to spend a few minutes on Grixis, which, funnily enough, would also be your general life expectancy if you did. That being said, zombies will be a major environmental hazard, and so learning more about them - especially if there is no sign of a controlling necromancer that you could try to take out - is one of the best ways to improve your odds of survival." How was a pony smiling? Who could say, don't even ask. "So today is an excellent day to ask question about how zombies work or to dispel certain erroneous myths and beliefs you may be carrying. Who knows? The answer you get today may be what saves your life next week."

Surely she was speaking figuratively. Surely.

Raiden, who totally had a black mane and tail and a backwards baseball cap on his head, despite his icon's tragic lack of same, had asked the students to meet him at Portalocity back when he'd assumed they were going to be, y'know, people-shaped this week. This morning he'd asked one of the gnomes to tape a sign to the door redirecting them to the park instead. Hopefully they wouldn't run into any trouble with the dinosaurs.

"Hey, everyponybody!" he greeted them once what he thought was his class was assembled. Had some random pony joined them? He had no way to tell. "I'm Raiden, and you signed up for Food Adventures! And we were supposed to start those adventures today, but, uh, I'm a pony." And probably some of them were, too. "And I couldn't reschedule our portal to anywhere with pony people, plus I don't know anything about their food." He would like to learn, though! "So instead we're going to introduce ourselves, and then explore our very own island! First I want you to tell me who you are, and a kind of food you'd like to try--either one you haven't already or one you want to know more about, both are good--and then your assignment for the week is to try something from one of the island's restaurants that you haven't before! If you don't have any money on you," because you were a pony, "just tell them to put it on Raiden's account. Okay? Great, let's get going!"

Well. Your teachers were ponies. Maybe some of the class was ponies too! But that sort of put a damper on the whole... baking thing. What with the lack of thumbs and all.

"Okay, so this week is a little crazy for the start of classes," Tony said, tail flicking in annoyance. "Hopefully you all avoided the dinosaurs just fine."

Steve, who couldn't throw a shield like this, was looking decidedly irritated. For a magical pegasus pony thing. "Baking will definitely be a challenge today," he said. "Making cakes is probably a little beyond us."

"So, we thought maybe microwaves?" Tony added. "We'll just go with an A plus grade if you manage something edible here."

"It'll be great!" Steve said with much more optimism that this deserves. "...we might give you homework for when all of our thumbs return."

"Just consider this an easy introduction to the class," Tony said. One where dinosaurs wanted to murder you and people were ponies.

Belle was a pony. This made most library activities difficult for her but she was determined to still read something.

Finding a book she could open and turn the pages of with her hooves was difficult. So maybe she was just flipping through an oversized art book very awkwardly.

At least she was adorable as a pony? Such a pretty shade of blue!
