Fortunately, Arden's headache from yesterday had gone away, so she was back at her post behind the circulation desk, poking at her phone. She'd tried on a bunch of dresses in her closet this morning, snapping selfies of each of them, and now she was flipping through each one, trying to figure out which dress she should wear Friday night.

And sometimes checking her phone to make sure she hadn't missed a message from Gray about how...his weekend...had gone.

This is the last class before our final next week," Steve said with a smile. "I'm very impressed with how your skills have increased over the semester!"

"Ups and downs, but you all tried your best," Tony added. The downs were... something. Yes. "So today we'll be going with spring desserts for you to just have fun with before things end next week."

Pea cake had been a choice. "The signature round today is a festive yeasted bread of your choice," Steve said, "like a Brioche di Pasqua, hot cross buns, paska or plaket."

"After that will be lemon bars with a freshly made lemon curd. And I have no idea what a curd is," Tony said with no shame at all.

"I think it's like jam?" Steve said wrongly.

Tony nodded in agreement because they were doing their best here. Or something like that. "The last thing you'll be bringing in for us next week will be an elaborate pavlova. Which we will enjoy as part of your final."

Steve nodded. "The pavlovas have to be at least 18 inches around." Super-soldiers had needs! Sugary, sugary needs.

"Fandom island is weirdly clean for a place people live," Jon said. "So we're going to the mainland to help with a park clean-up." He led them through the portal. "We'll have trash bags and these..." he gestured vaguely, "pointy stick things, so we don't have to touch awful things." He led them toward where a group was already getting them passed out. "Stay within the park, don't touch anything that looks dangerous, and...well, just be safe, please."

Jon got in line for his own bag and pointy stick.

There had been an email sent to his students for class to met down at the beach for that day’s class, “good morning,” Cutter smiled, “for today’s class we’re going to be doing something a bit different and I thought it would be fun for us to have a fossil hunting practical, there are some great examples of the different fossils to be found here, especially trace and body fossils,” he said, smiling at Connor to see if there was anything he’d like to add before they let the class go exploring.

Connor grinned, knowing he and Cutter were as excited about the fossil hunt as the class was. He had hs bucket and tools in hand and was ready to go. "Feel free to split up into smaller groups or strike out on your own ad sene what you can find. We will meet back here and (hand-wavely) compare what fossils we uncover. Good luck!" he said with a nod as everyone started heading out to where they wanted to search. With a smile he turned to Cutter, ready to start their search together.
