Did Steve need to be wearing a bright green sweater today? No, but he was Irish American and getting into the spirit of the upcoming holiday. "Today we're doing Irish baking!"

"After we judge your shave ice, we'll get into the signature challenge of... shortbread. You can flavor it any way you want so long as it's rich and buttery," Tony said as he grinned. "Maybe go with something green to impress Captain Rogers here."

"Please don't use kale," Steve added immediately.

"...I didn't even think that was an option." Tony clearly hadn't gone to enough hipster places. "Either way! After that, we want you to make a... Barmbrack." Because in no way could he pronounce the actual name for it.

"Irish cinnamon raisin bread," Steve said. "To speed the recipe up, we tell you to microwave the raisins with the hot tea instead of having them steep overnight."

"That sounds really good, actually. Even if I'm more of a coffee drinker." Understatement of the year. "But that will be followed up by a very special challenge for you to bring us next week."

"Think...decorative pie," Steve said, nodding.

It was story time in the library today. Not Arden, no, but the Irish mythology section had gotten together to act out the gripping saga of the Táin Bó Cúailnge. It was silent, the whole story being told via relevant cover art, titles, and very dramatic acting. Which, you know, considering they were books, was an impressive feat all by itself.

Arden and the gremlins were all pretty transfixed on the show. Honestly, the only thing they were lacking was popcorn.

For the next class, since they had missed last week’s, Cutter and Connor had decided to have an excursion to the Smithsoanian, even though they had come here a few times for their classes Cutter always loved coming here and visiting the collections.

“Good morning,” Cutter began before they let the class go to explore, “today we’re going to be exploring the Smithsonian’s Fossil Collections, which has over 40 million specimens and these fossils and rock samples record the history of life on Earth over the last 3.5 billion years.” he smiled as he looked to Connor to see if there was anything he’d like to add before they started exploring.

"We made little activity sheets for you all, a sort of scavenger hunt of things to look for as you explore the fossil collection and other areas. Professor Cutter and I will also be doing the scavenger hunt (because of course they were) and we can come back at the end of our time and compare notes." Connor gave Cutter a knowing smile and a small wink then turned back to the class. "Other than the common sense rules go and have fun exploring and we will see you all here in a few hours!"

Jon nodded as he looked around at everyone. "I hope you wore something comfortable to walk in and that you won't mind getting dirty. Though, I...well, hopefully there won't be dirt involved, but there will be dogs, and they can be, um. Messy."

He wasn't a terrible fan. He liked dogs fine in theory, but...well, he was definitely a cat person.

Once they were through the portal, they were in a fenced-in field with a building at one end. The building (or at least, things in it) was barking. A lot.

"The rescue here needs help walking dogs. So we're going to do that. They'll have instructions for us." He devoutly hoped.

Fortunately, a lady came out of the building with a dog on a leash. She smiled at them all. "Welcome, and thank you so much for helping out! Let me show you some good techniques, and how to keep them from getting too far out of hand. You won't be working with any difficult animals, but even the nicest dog can get a bit excited."

She went through everything with them, then waved at the pavement leading up to the door. "Wait here in a line, please, and we'll bring the dogs out to you."
