Library, Wednesday 04/24
Wednesday, April 24th, 2024 01:44 amWell, Arden had a goose in tow for her library shift today. Triumph had returned to his stable pretty easily, but Graham had shown and inclination towards following her around and no inclination towards biting her, so now Arden was apparently goose-sitting for however long until Graham turned back.
"This is my second week on the job," Arden said to the goose in her arms, "so we're gonna behave ourselves, yeah?"
"HONK!"
"Goose or not," she whispered furiously, "this is still the library. So respect the rules or I'm sending you back to the manor. On foot."
"honk." Graham looked very abashed at his previous enthusiastic outburst. At least, Arden thought he did.
"Okay," she said, setting him down. "It looks like I've got some returns to process. You go explore and if you can find me a reputable source that says that geese can have pie, we will renegotiate yesterday's agreement. But I'm not kidding when I say reputable."
"Honk!" Graham said and waddled quickly into the stacks, a goose on a mission.
And Arden was just gonna take a minute and stare into middle distance while she accepted the fact that 'having serious discussions with a goose - who used to be a guy - about whether or not he was allowed to have pie' was now just a thing that happened in her life and was possibly only the third weirdest thing she'd dealt with this month.
Moment over, she started on the pile of returns in front of her. "...All I'm saying is that if I have to sew a bunch of shirts for you to become person-shaped again, you are in for a very disappointing time, my friend," she muttered to herself as she did.
