Amaya had definitely been on this island long enough (too long, maybe, even) to finally figure out what was going on this week by the time she'd smashed her thumb for the third time yesterday, and she'd gotten to a point where she had a handy solution that she found herself pursuing with eagerness rather than reluctance. So there was definitely a part of her brain floating around the idea of just making it a free period this week.

However, she did also remember those times when solutions were a bit less pleasant and/or few and far between, so, out of sympathy for those like herself who preferred distraction above all else in those cases, she was definitely holding class.

It was going to be incredibly simple, though, but hopefully a good way to work out some of that pent-up frustration without too many injuries as a result.

"Well, guys," she stated, with a nod, "this week, we're just going to practice an important skill for any shop class to learn, and that's....construction. Kind of. Listen, we've got hammers," she held up the one in her hand, "we got nails," she held up the fan of nails in her other hand, "we got boards," a gesture toward the lumber waiting beside her. "Let's just have at it. Bonus points if you actually managed to build yourself something here today, but there's no expectation of that, because there are two different variations of the concept of nailing something, and if you can't do the one, might as well do the other."

And, quite frankly, Amaya planned on getting around to both. She always was a fan of multitasking.

"Now, I'm sure most of you have figured out what's going on this week," Summer stated, with a lift of her chin, "or there's a good chance that if you've even bothered coming to class today, you actually don't know, so I'll just fill you in now that the island is doing the thing it does where it basically is exuding horny pollen and making everyone want to fuck."

Look, yes, this was a classroom, but on a week like this, there was really no point in beating around the bush. Unless you were into that.

"So," Summer continued, "the way I see it, there's two different ways you could go with this one, and which one you consider the good or evil path is probably just a matter of perspective. But you could either lean into it hard," yes, she had to use that word, thank you, "and emphasize the sexy or try your damndest to combat it by making your cupcakes not only disgusting, but also with ingredients theorized to be anti-aphrodisiacs.”

Stark was very carefully not making eye contact with anyone while Summer spoke and was in fact just looking down at the counter as much as possible. “Perhaps gross cupcakes will be enough to distract you from other thoughts,” he said. “Although they might not. And perhaps you could gift your, ah, sexy cupcakes to a friend or companion? I wouldn’t recommend giving them anything too gross unless you know them well enough to know what gross things they actually enjoy.” Yep. Definitely making a concerted effort not to even look at Summer while repeatedly saying the g-word. “Or you could use things like graham crackers? They’re meant to…suppress urges, if eaten. And corn flakes. I don’t understand why but they are. They might make for very dry cupcakes and of course cake is better moist...”

Stark-rambling was pretty bad even on a normal week, but Summer's palm was firmly meeting her face the moment he somehow decided, amidst all those grosses, to also reference an ingredient that literally shared a name with one of their students.

"So, anyway," she concluded, because the sooner they got on with this, probably, the better, "we have [nsfw link ]sex cupcakes, and we have anti-sex cupcakes made from various allegedly anti-aphrodisiac ingredients. My personal favorites? Tofu and popcorn, but with microwaved popcorn specifically since that apparently contains something in the lining that kills your sex drive."

A beat.

"Nothing will kill your sex drive this week," she sighed. "Good luck."

“Good luck,” Stark echoed, still determinedly not looking at anyone. If he started he wasn’t going to stop looking and then where would they be?

"Congratulations. It's the time of year where the island has decided to wage war on its residents via the insidious method of pollination," Ghanima said dryly as everyone settled in. Notedly, she did not have Trebor with her.

While Ghanima was capable of altering her own biology to remain unaffected by the pollen, Trebor was still under a year old, and Ghanima did not know how it would interact with his very Fremen biology. He was spending the week with his Auntie Alice, far far from Fandom.

"Let's all be honest with ourselves," she continued cheerfully. "Very little I say is going to make an impact today, so it's Movie Day, and you have a one-week extension on your homework."

You hadn't forgotten about your homework, right?

"The film is a bit longer than our class period, so if you can stay and wish to have a respite, you are more than welcome. If you'd like to finish it at another point in time, it will be on course reserves in the library starting tomorrow."

"If you require academics to soothe your brain, write me an essay on their deployment of tactics, and what Sun Tzu would think about their battle."

Steve and Tony were professionals and they would show up for class even this week!

"Sometimes you learn a little too much about what captures a designer's attention based on how their buildings look," Steve said.

"It's a sort of... you'll know when you see them," Tony offered, innocently bringing up the image of a specific building in China for the class.

"Sometimes it's in utility buildings, too," Steve said, putting up the next image.

"Very normal designs." Yes. "That actually have a long, historical lineage!"

Thank you, Tony.

"And sometimes they're leading us into the future," Steve said. "Surprisingly--" he didn't sound that surprised, "--there isn't a ton of yonic-leaning design."

Art, though. Definitely art. Thank you, Georgia O'Keeffe, even if you hated people pointing it out.

"But, it's... an interesting week, so we won't be keeping you all here," Tony promised. "Feel free to spend this class period at the library, looking into these design features."
