wrongkindofsith: (Your mouth moves and nonsense comes out)

Well, everything was pink again. So, so pink. And sparkly.

Jane looked resigned to just being covered in glitter here. "The glitch is back. But we're making it work."

"For better or worse." Three guesses who the 'worse' half of that was directed at.

The safe spots to jump to looked like a series of doll houses and play cars. Because teeming.

"It's not the worst," Jane tried.

"Yet," Cara added, ever the optimist.

"Let's just get to it." It was the only way, after all.

"Between my love for a theme and the general ephemeral nature of time and its passage," said Summer, which was a hell of a way to start a class about gross food, "we almost got out of July without being able to do this, but the timing has smiled in my favor and before we move onto August," HOW??, "we've got just enough July left to do ourselves a nice little Christmas in July! Because there are some holiday themed recipes that are just too good to just pass up merely because it's not December.”

“I’ve never had a second one Christmas before,” Stark said. “But I like the idea.” Although now he was wondering if he ought to have purchased gifts. Or made cookies.

"Because I haven't gotten to the recipes yet. Such as our Frosty the SLAW Man--introduce a new man into your life, indeed!"

"I don't think this is sort of man anyone in here needs in their life," Stark said. “I don’t need that sort of man in my life.” He didn’t think Summer did either but he wasn’t going to say that out loud.

"Or," Summer continued, relentless in her questionable holiday cheer, "we can make the classic fruitcake even worse by including tomato soup! Tomato is technically a fruit, after all!

"And surely," Summer, finally, reached her conclusion, "the thing you think of when you hear the words hot avocado pie is 'yule delight'! Because that's exactly what we've got in a 'poinsettia pie' recipe, as well."

“I thought those were poisonous plants,” Stark said suspiciously. “Aren’t they meant to be poisonous? We’re not really eating them, are we?” No, Stark and also they aren’t really toxic anyway.

"No, we're not," Summer assured him and everyone else. "No actual poinsettias were used in this recipe. So why is it called that? Who knows! But what I do know is that you can thank me now," Summer nodded decisively, "for all the rave reviews these are sure to get you come actual Christmastime."

Jon nodded at everyone when they showed up, then got up and cleared his throat. He looked a little worse than usual, though in this case it was less "starving and strung out" and more "Englishman in 100F heat".

"I went searching for a movie set in the cold and I found meta for this one. It was apparently a big thing in pop culture for a while. I have no idea what sort of action there might be. There is singing, which is meant to be catchy. And maybe we can all picture ice and snow and avoid outright melting for a while."

Issa, similarly unimpressed with this heat despite a bit of a hair trim, hmphed and lay down on top of a vent.

"So far, so a lot of talking and running," Atton said.

Pretty cheerfully, for a guy standing in front of a dark, damp cave.

"Today, we're going to test a different set of your skills. Namely, not getting eaten by giant, terrible monsters." He jabbed his thumb towards the dark cave. "There's a terentatek in there. Wandering around the dark. It can smell you, and it has toxic tusks, and it really wants to drink your blood."

And if they turned around, they'd find more stone cave walls behind them.

"Good luck!"

This week the library seemed to be back to its normal quiet self, there was no music playing and there didn't seem to be any shelves or genres missing so after some initial searching to make sure everything was where it was supposed to be Jo went about reshelving the books that she had to put away that day and once she was finished settled back down at the desk to enjoy a quiet day.
