Shop Class; Wednesday, Third Period [11/16].

Hopefully, the boys would remember to bring back in what they'd made during last week's whittling class for this week, but, hey, if not (did they forget? Lose it? It disappeared yesterday under mysterious circumstances? It didn't survive either of them being even smaller children over the weekend?), well, there was plenty of material to whip something else up, so long as it was quick, because there was plenty to do that day.

"Welcome back," Amaya greeted them with her usual nod. "We're going to be digging our mini-foundries back out again today, and there's a lot to do with this week's project, so we're going to get right to it. Now I asked you to bring back in whatever it was you whittled last week, because today, we're putting them to good use through a process called sand casting. That's when you make a mold out of tightly packed, slightly damp sand for founding whatever little pieces you'd like with the pattern you've made. Not necessarily the best way to cast an item, but definitely an effective, quick, and fairly cheap way to do it, and hopefully a little bit of fun, too.

Beginner's Guide to Heroism, Wednesday - 2nd Period

The class this week was handwavily informed to meet up at the danger shop. For reasons that would soon become clear.

"Welcome back to class!" Jane said, clapping her hands excitedly. "Today we're going to try another team building exercise, but this time it'll be team vs team."

Oh yeah, nothing could go wrong there.

"So, it's sort of a capture the flag thing. I mean, it is capture the flag, but with your costumes from the start on!"

Oh yeah, big difference.

"So, let's get you split into teams and start."

Getting to Know Earth, Wednesday

"Some of you may have gotten to be children this weekend," Hannibal noted. He had been...out. And it was a good thing it hadn't hit him at the time.

"Whether you did or not, it's a good thing to be able to enjoy yourself, and there is no reason children should have all of the fun. Today we will be visiting the City Museum in St. Louis. It has a ferris wheel, climbs and slides, caves, and numerous other interesting activities. There is also a circus. And since the roof is only open March through October, we'll be visiting it this past May. Enjoy."

He led them through the portal and to the museum.

The Mechanics of Engineering, Wednesday 1st Period

Unlike the last couple of weeks Goose was actually in front of the classroom today, “good morning, sorry about the last couple of weeks,” he said, “I thought we’d continue with covering simple machines and move on to what will be our last simple machine that we need to cover and that is the screw,”

“The screw is actually similar to an inclined plane but it has a cylinder around it,” he explained, “and they can be used in a number of ways, such as holding things together or being used to lift heavy items,”

“For our practical today, we’re going to be looking at making an archimedes screw,”
