Amaya was a bit...distracted today...which meant it was a great time to have the kids work with molten hot metal!

But this was one of her favorite lessons, and it was easy enough for her to switch fully onto teacher mode...especially since, even though there were only two of them this time around, it was...these two.

"Morning," Amaya greeted them with a nod, "and welcome back. After putting together our mini-foundries last week, it wouldn't make much sense to not then put them to good use. So, today, we'll be using them to make metal biscuits, which I don't recommend actually eating, unless hard aluminum is something that's already a part of your normal diet. You can see we've got ourselves a few buckets of old and empty aluminum soda cans here," she gave one such bucket a little kick to make the contents rattle slightly, "which we'll be melting down into our metal. So not only is it pretty neat, but it's also a good way to recycle. Go ahead and grab your foundries from last week," she was very politely ignoring the fact that the two of them had made one of them out to look like a vampire for some reason; some questions she was just going to leave alone, "and I'll show you how we're doing this, and then you guys can just go at it. Just remember, safety first, so please make sure you've got some heat resistant gloves while you're working and some goggles wouldn't be a bad idea, either.

"We've got a little more time, so feel free to melt down some more cans and use a variety of the pans to try something else or try melting down what you've made this first time around and do a second pour with a purer metal. Don't forget to save a little time at the end to empty out the ashes in your forge before you leave as well, and let me know if there's any questions, of course."

"So, a catchphrase," Jane began. "Maybe it's not the most important thing, but it can help you stand apart from the rest."

Or the other Thor. You know, beyond bring a different gender.

"So, I'd like to take today and work on what you think would be a good one for what you're going for." That sounded simple, right? "And help your classmates, okay?"

"Good morning everybody," Hannibal greeted them cheerfully at Portalocity. "It's been brought to my attention that there is a wedding coming up, so today we are going shopping."

He led them through the portal and out onto a street. "It's back to Italy today. Milan instead of Florence. The Quadrilatero d'Oro, the Rectangle of Gold, is one of the premier places in the world to shop for clothing. There are shops for Prada, Gucci, Armani, Ferragamo, Dolce & Gabbana, and many others. Everyone is leaving here today with at least one new set of clothing. You can stay with me, and I will guide you through the stores, or you may explore on your own and put it on my bill. Perhaps stay away from Cartier and Rolex in that case, or at least ask me first." More because he had Opinions than because of concern about money. He trusted you not to buy anything over six figures.

He spread his arms. "I will be beginning in Armani. Enjoy your time."

“Good morning,” Goose began that week’s class, “so we’ve covered the pulley and the wheel and axel, this week our class is going to focus on the lever as our next simple machine,”

“The lever is a simple machine where a bar rotates around a fixed point fulcrum,” he explained, “a fulcrum is best described as the support for a bar,”

“There are three different types of levers,” he continued, “first, second and third class levers and the way that each one is classified is that they each have a different applied point - the effort, the load and the function,”

“Some examples of different levers are - pliers and scissors for first class levers, and going back to our lecture last week a wheelbarrow is also an example of a second class lever,” he added, “finally examples of a third class lever are barbecue tongues, a broom and a fishing rod,”

“For our practical today, we’re going to be looking at making levers,”
