special_rabbit: (it's dangerous to go alone)

"Morning, everyone," said Amaya, greeting the class with the usual nod on the usual training field in the usual mock kingdom of the danger shop program, with a few racks and tables of this week's weapon and her leather-jacketed teaching partner beside her. And boy was she glad to put her mind on something else that wasn't flowers for a while! "Now, next week's the school trip, and so Detective Diaz and I wanted to focus on a type of weapon that might have been common in the area we'll be going to. And for that, the most obvious and basic weapon that we could focus on would likely be a spear, but, I'm going to be honest with you, there are so many interesting weapon designs that have come out of this vast continent through time that it would almost be a shame to focus on basically just a long stick with a sharp pointy end to it when we could be talking about something like this!"

With that, she held out one of the weapons.

"Or this! Or even look at this! Amazing! So let's talk about some of them before we get around to giving them a swing or a throw for ourselves.

"But, with that said, that's quite a handful of interesting new weapons to explore, so I'll hand you over to Detective Diaz now and you'll be on your way to giving them a try yourself."

"Don't get too comfortable, everyone!" Sidon announced, once everyone had gotten to the classroom, his grin particularly eager and sharp that morning. "Because today, our Great Legend will lead us on a fantastic voyage....to the Danger Shop! Let us go and see what great wonders await us! Last one there is an octorock's bladder!"

Leave it to Sidon to make even a traverse across the school to the Danger Shop an exciting, rallying experience, offering up words of encouragement as they went. Once inside, they would find themselves in a lush, green forest, with plenty of trees and little hillocks and underbrush.

"Today," Sidon announced eagerly, "we are going to talk about the great mysterious blupee! A small, spiritual creatures that dwell within the forests of Hyrule, the blupee is said to be about the size of a large rabbit, and to move similarly, with bounds and hops and quick leaps and evasive manuvers. They're said to glow blue, with the body of the aforementined rabbit, but the face of an owl, and golden wreaths in place of ears! They are said to be swift, and very easily startled, and very few people have ever seen the enigmatic blupee! Some claim that they are mere figments of the imagination, but there are others who say they have not only seen a blupee, but they have discovered that, when one strikes one with an arrow, the blupee, while unharmed, will drop rupees for the archer to collect before disappearing into the spiritual realm from whence it came!"

As he spoke, of course, there was a flash of blue from somewhere behind him. Sidon turned toward it for a moment, then turned back toward the students with a grin. "Did you see that? I think we may have a few blupees in our midst even now as we speak! Now, surely, not all of us here are excellent marksmen, so perhaps shooting a blupee might be a bit out of our scope right now, but surely, at least someone at some time has certainly tried to catch a blupee in other ways! And if not?"

He laughed, beaming at them all.

"Then we shall be the first! Remember, though, they are quite skittish, and remarkably fast, so you may need to be quite sneaky and swift or perhaps even clever yourself in order to catch one! Sighting a blupee in the wild is a rare event indeed, so let us make the most out of it! Are there any questions before we begin? If not, let us begin our hunt, and may you find yourself quite victorious!"

Today, the Danger Shop was set up for cookie baking! And also a little structural integrity challenge. But mostly cookies!

"Welcome back!" Tony said, very excited to see how the new challenge they had for their class would go. "Today is going to be about earthquakes."

"And gingerbread houses!" Steve added. "But mostly the earthquakes."

They had put so many things on the earthquake platform to make them fall over, you guys. Just. So many things.

"So, your goal today is to build a house of edible materials that will withstand the earthquake simulator," Tony said. "Which is a lot harder than it sounds. Captain Rogers and I tried."

There had been Jello involved. It had been so great. And messy.

"Tony's going to do a quick lecture about gravity and stability and physics of structures," Steve said, "and then you need--with your bots--to build a structure at least three feet tall that doesn't fall over when we rattle it around for a solid minute."

This was going to be a disaster.

So the last several days had ended up being rather busy for Goose and in that time he hadn’t thought to get a head start on planning for this week’s lesson and by the time it came round for class, he ended up not having anything prepared.

“Good morning,” Goose nodded, “so I know we were supposed to be continuing to talk about mechanical design but I … well don’t have anything prepared for this week…” he said a bit sheepishly, “so we’re going to be having a movie day instead - this one is based on a true story of how NASA got the first man on the moon,”

Goose had even seen this movie as well - courtesy of some of the movie nights that he’d been had for team bonding night.
