Guiding the Powerful Yet Incompetent, Monday, Fourth Period

Yennefer wasted no time beating around the bush today. "The king has decided to build a new wing onto the palace to better represent his sense of style and modern tastes. Never mind that the palace is already a mish-mash of an architectural nightmare from generations of his forefathers doing the same thing, that's beside the point. The point is that these things cost money, and he is considering how to raise a lot of it rather quickly. To clarify: he wants to raise taxes. How will you advise him?"

The Danger Shop workshop had three long four-foot pools today. So this should be a fun one.

"Today we're going to test whether it's possible to swim through syrup as fast as water," Kitty greeted them. "So first off, can you all swim? If so, you're going to swim four lengths of the water pool to get your time. Then you're going to do the same through syrup and we'll compare. And if you're wondering about the third pool, that's for further experimentation. Will watering down the syrup change your results? Or are there any other factors you would change? Or if you just want to see if there's another substance entirely that would work, let's talk."

That's right, kids, did you want to make your classmates swim through mac and cheese on Valentine's Day for funsies? Today was your chance!
