Photography; Thursday, First Period [02/10].
Thursday, February 10th, 2022 04:14 am"Hey, guys!" Prompto never really had any shortage of a sort of nervous energy around his person at any given time, but that Thursday, it did seem a little amped up as he greeted them standing at the front of the classroom instead of sitting on the desk as usual because sitting still was just shy of impossible right now. Besides, there was clearly a few boxes of pastries sitting on the desk in his stead, anyway. "And welcome back! I hope you had a few good opportunities to gets some practice on your portrait shots, especially because we're going to start class with showing off your work, and then we're going to get into today's lesson, and I hope you all had breakfast before you came in, because this one?" He chuckled a little. "Is definitely going to make you hungry. But first! Portraits! Who wants to go first?"
And once everyone had a chance to show off their pictures, it was time to get started on the next lesson.
"Now," he started, "with the holiday coming up, a lot of people probably have their minds on some real fancy food," a faint grin, because he was maybe one of those people, yes, and said fancy food might be the meaning behind his particular energy today, "which means it's probably a great time to talk about food photography, which is a skill that's not only useful to boost up your social media likes, but also a really interesting career path in photography to consider if you're taking this with a potential future in the field in mind. Now, I'm also friends with a guy who's a pretty good chef, too, so I apologize if they get your appetite going, but, hey," he cracked a grin at them and gestured toward the boxes on the desk, "that's why I brought doughnuts."
A pause.
"Well, also, so we'd have some food to photograph in a little bit for practice, but they're totally also for eating. Now, let's get into it. Your key componants in a sweet food photography shot are going to be angle, composition, and setting..."
And with that, he turned his attention to the first example in a long line of many to highlight his point as he went through a few of the essential tips and suggestions to really make those food photos pop for more than just your Instagram!
