"Welcome back, ducklings ♥," Shunsui greeted the class with the usual sleepy smile as they all got settled and comfortable and had their tea poured (an imperial genmaicha today, for the record) and passed around, "and good morning ♥. Since it was brought up last week in relation to the shanshui poetry we discussed, today we will be shedding a light on a personal favorite type of poetry, and that is, of course, the haiku ♥."

And if one were to guess that the haiku was among Shunsui's favorites because it was relatively short and simple, well...one would not be wrong.

"Let us discuss a little, then, shall we, before we dive in and see how deep we can go with our own haiku and perhaps try a little response with building them into renga ♥."

The Danger Shop had the workshop up today, but Kitty was standing in front of what looked like a kitchen with several stoves, minus a ceiling. In fact, if the students looked up, it would just look like sky up there.

"This is one you're absolutely not to try at home or in the dorms," Kitty greeted them. "Cooking! You've possibly had to do it by now and hopefully you know a little something about fire safety. Like how you're told not to put water on a grease fire. The myth goes that if you do that, you'll get a fireball thirty feet high. If you do get a grease fire, you need to pour baking soda or salt on it to extinguish it. Don't bring it outside. But for this class and this class only, you're going to see what happens when you do pour water on it.

She turned on one stove with a pan on the burner, coated in oil. "This is your regular run of the mill canola oil. You'll get to choose what kind of oil or grease you use. You'll also get a Double Big Gulp full of water, which is 50 ounces, and you'll throw that on the fire and see what happens from a distance. Again, this is safe only here, you will not get hurt, but you also might not want to see it up close. Then we're going to put them out, and if you want to try it again with a different kind of oil or amount of water, you'll get the chance. And after that, we have a challenge to last week's myth."

The Danger Shop was set up as the swankiest of swanky parties. The food was good, the drinks may or may not have contained alcohol, attractive gentlebeings of all genders and species mingled. In all it was the kind of event you'd expect your teacher to be summarily ejected from.

"I feel I've been neglecting your soft skills," Aphra said, that and she felt like a party. "So enjoy the do, mingle, have some snacks, deal with a random awkward social situation, just have fun."
