With winter seemingly have arrived in Fandom full swing by now, hopefully the mid-morning trip to a bright sunny day in the Danger Shop would be welcome. Because that was where the class would be meeting, on a vast open stretch of green to be used for a training grounds, with a forest and a castle on a hill (it's only a model!) in the background because Amaya was just that level of dork. The banners and practice dummies definitely gave the space a bit of a tournament field, but the real stars of the show, obviously, were the tables and racks of a wide variety of weapons behind the two teachers standing there ready to greet the students.

Well, one of the teachers was ready to greet the students, anyway, and she was the one who would be doing most of the talking.

"Good morning, everyone!" Amaya started, with a nod and a pump of her fist. "And welcome to your first Weaponry class! My name's Amaya Blackstone, local blacksmith, and this here beside me is Rosa Diaz, local detective. I'm an expert at making the weapons, she's the expert in using them, and this class intends to utilize both our skills to give you an in-depth knowledge on how to use a variety of them, everything from your basic swords to somethings a little more complex, like your atlatls or your trebuchets. And here in the Danger Shop, we don't even need to worry about anyone losing more eyes or limbs than they may have already had. I will also mention that this course is going to mostly cover pre-modern weaponry, as I'm pre-modern myself, though if there's ever a week where I'm unable to make it, Diaz will likely take the lead on something more modern, like your guns and explosives and what have you.

"But before we get to know the weapons," she continued, "we'd like to get to know you--"

"She," Rosa interrupted with a correction, "would like to get to know you. I couldn't actually care less."

It was very important that they understood the distinction after all, and Amaya grinned a little, and adjusted. "I would like to get to know. Besides, Introductions are pretty much customary around here for the first week, and I'm seeing at least a few new faces here today! We're going to give it a little bit of a Weaponry spin, though. Behind me, as you can see, we've got all sorts of weapons already laid out, and I'd like everyone to take some time to look through them and consider them. Even if you're not that familiar with them, I'd like you to go ahead and pick out one that you think represents you. Then, you'll go ahead and tell us all your name and why you picked that weapon and how you think it represents who you are.

"If you could," she added, "letting us know what expeceriences you've had with weapons thus far would be mighty helpful, too, so we know what sort of experience levels we're working with. Also, if there are any weapons or types of weapons you're particularly hopeful about learning about, I'd love to hear that, too, because we've got a lot to choose from, and your thoughts may help us narrow it down a little to what we decide to actually feature.

"So, any questions before we begin?"

In the classroom with the highest ceilings, Sidon stood looming over the desks with every bit as much excitement and thrill for what wa ahead as if it were his very first class, as if he hadn't been doing this for a few semesters now. And, ohhhh, he did have a great many wonderful and spectacular things planned for his class this semester, but today was probably one of his most favorite days at all, because, of course, today was the day for introductions!

Maybe one day, he should do a whole class on introductions, he did love them so, but, for now, he was doing a class on a much more versatile topic, and now it was time to start getting into it!

"Hello!" he bellowed brightly, opening up his arms in a welcoming and excited gesture toward his gathered students. "And welcome to Great Legends of Hyrule, a class where I, Sidon!" Here, he pumped his fist mightily across his chest and hit them all with a big, toothy grin, where even the florescent lights overhead managed to catch on the glistening end of his fangs with a sparkle. "The Zora Prince shall lead you on a fantastical journey through many of the brilliant and exciting tales of my homeland! For you see, I am from a far-distant world, a land far-far away from here, called...." He stopped for a moment to chuckle, "as you may have guessed...Hyrule! Why, I understand that I do have a rather massive bias for such an opinion, but hopefully, in time, and perhaps not even that much time at all, you will see where I am coming from, as I open your eyes to the magnificence and wonder of my world through all its spellbinding tales of legends and mysteries!

"But," he stated, laughing again and throwing them all a wink, "I believe there is an even greater mystery at foot, right before our very eyes today, that is much closer to us than Hyrule currently is, and that, my good friends, is the great mystery of who you are! As this is our very first week, I should very much like to get to know each other a little better before we get to know my dear Hyrule. Let us embark!...on the grand Fandom tradition of first week introductions!"

Because leave it to Sidon to make something like Introductions sound like a thrilling event.

"I shall, of course, lead the way! As I have said before...." And it was very clear that he was all too eager to repeat all of this, "I am Sidon!" Pump of the fist! Big sparkly smile! Hold that pose! "The Zora Prince, and I come from the land of Hyrule, where I am the prince of a place called Zora's Domain, which you will certainly hear more about. The Zora are an aquatic race of amphibian, as I'm sure you may have guessed, and you will discover that there is a wide variety of colorful and unique species scattered all throughout Hyrule! But we will get to those in due time! Some other things about me, is that I, too, was once a student here at Fandom High, nearly thirty years ago!, although not as much time has passed for Fandom as it has for me. I am also currently running the Furnado Animal Shelter, where I spent many of my days as a student tending to the fish and being an excellent cat tree, and I am proud to report that, despite their best efforts, those cats have still not managed to eat me!"

Though they absolutely still tried.

He chuckled a little before turning his warm but sharp smile on the students again.

"Who shall like to go next? Let us know who you are, where you're from, perhaps share with us any stories of your own, and maybe let me know what kinds of stories you like in particular, so that I may better choose the tales that will entice and excite you the most!"

The students in the Bakineering class were directed to the Danger Shop today, which had been decked out with the best parts of both a high-end bakery and Tony's workshop. Had they simply copied a number of things from J,GoB? You bet your ass they did.

"Welcome to Bakineering," Tony said brightly. "Which isn't a real word, but we're going with it. I'm your teacher, Tony Stark..." He glanced over at Steve with an expectant little grin.

Steve gave him a rueful smile in reply. “And I'm Steve Rogers. Welcome to a class where baking meets engineering.”

Whether they should was a question for another time. “We're so glad to see so much enthusiasm about the idea! Today we're going to start off easy, with cookies you turn into a chandelier that will hang six feet above us.”

Their idea of easy was suspect.

"Which means the cookies need to be strong enough to hold the weight of everything hanging off of them," Tony said. "We have all kinds of crafting materials and cookie recipes available for you to try out." Because they weren't cruel. Much. This class, at least.

"And, since this will be your first time in the class, we've decided to allow you to partner up or even work in larger teams if you're not too worried about too many cooks spoiling the broth."

Goose found that having his class first thing in the morning went well because it meant he could do his early morning run around the island and then go over to set up for class. Even though this week he wasn’t planning on anything that required a lot of setting up do he mostly focused on finalising his next few lesson plans while he waited.

“Good morning,” he nodded once everyone had turned up, “I know we’re a small class this semester and I do know Jo from class last semester but I thought we could still do introductions regardless it is the first week and they’re pretty standard around here,” he grinned, “so why mess with tradition? I’d like to know your name, class and your experience with either mechanical engineering or engineering in general so I’ll start,” he said, “I’m Shane Gooseman, most people call me Goose. I’m from West Australia and its 2107 for me, I’m part of the Galaxy Rangers Series 5 Task Force and part of my responsibilities involving fixing machines or help in the building of them, “ he nodded, “who would like to go next?”
