While Ignis was fairly sure he had done very little in accomplishing the admittedly, surprisingly monumental task of turning some of these students into chefs by any stretch of the imagination, he went into this final class of the workshop feeling optimistic about how it had gone because, if anything, they had not needed to call the fire department even once, and, all things considered, that seemed...impressive.

Of course, there was still one class to get through, and the open ended nature of the activity should at least make things...interesting.

"Well," Ignis greeted them with a nod, "congratulations on surviving thus far, and with, it would seem, very few incidents. Let's plan to keep it that way for our final class. Since we've covered most of the basics to a fine degree, today will mostly be about putting those basics to use. Sometimes, when one is out in the field, one is restricted on what sort of ingredients are available to them, and so, in the spirit of such scarcity and creativity, each of you will be given a cooler with a limited amount of randomized ingredients, and it's up to you create something out of that to feed the camp. The basics...fresh water, salt, oil, and sugar...will be provided, but everything else must either be from your cooler, borrowed from someone else's cooler, or foraged in the wild."

If it came to foraging, he very much suspected this was the last he'd see of Lucille and Tisarwat...

"Let me know if you have any questions, otherwise, I'll let you all get to setting up your camp kitchens and exploring your options."

Just as had happened the previous 6 weeks, cupcake class was once again being held in the Home Ec room and once again Stark was standing at the front of the room with a box on the counter in front of him.

“I’ve made cupcakes for everyone to decorate, if you like,” Stark said, opening the box to remove containers full of colorful cupcakes, mostly undecorated. “Or you can try and make them as well. I have the recipe and everything you would need. But the decorating is fun and you can do just that if you prefer.” Eating frosting and/or cupcakes was also acceptable. Stark wasn’t going to stop anyone. Why would he?

“They’re paint-themed,” he added, holding up one of the decorated cupcakes. “They’re even different colored on the inside.” He held up one already cut in half to show off the swirls. “Paint because today is the last day of paintball as well.”

Was one of these cupcakes going to be thrown at Anakin’s head later? Only time would tell. Maybe it would be handed over as a peace offering instead. It could happen!

“There’s plenty of food coloring to make whatever frosting you might want and there are colors already made. Have fun. And I can help, like always, if you need it. Or want it.”

"Morning, everyone," Amaya greeted the class with her standard nod, her little crooked smirk. "Welcome to your last class in blacksmithing! I mean, unless any of you are interested in pursuing any of this further, in which case, you know where to find me, I'll be happy to help. Today's going to be pretty simple, we'll just be putting the finishing touches on those handles and those blades, sharpening them up and maybe, if you're feeling inclined, giving them a few tests with the targets and dummies I've got set up in that corner of the shop.

"Today's also a day," she added, "where, if you want to just sort of get back to the meat of the art and just hammer out some metal and see what you get, practice your different edges or what have you, I'm all here for it. Basically, this class if for you to really hone what you'd like to take away from your time here. So, with that, grab your gear and let's get going!"

Paintball couldn't just be a normal game of paintball after all this time. No, instead, it was set up with the same obstacles and hiding spots, but within a roller rink.

"For our last class this session," Steve said, grinning, "we thought we'd up the difficulty again. You guys are getting too good!"

"So. Rollerblades," Tony said proudly. "There's padding and helmets, don't worry."

No, do worry.

Worry a lot. "We're back down to the paint balloons, so those should be easier to use while rollerskating," Steve said.

Or you would trip and fall and cover yourself in paint, which also seemed likely.

"Just remember to have fun." Was that aimed at all the weird rivalries in the class? Yes. Pointedly.

"Anakin," Steve added, crossing his arms over his chest and looking disappointed.

"So, if you're going to go out and be a hero, it's important to be honest with yourself about your strengths and weaknesses," Yang said cheerfully to her assembled class. "I have a hell of a temper, I tend to try and go through a problem rather than stop to think of alternate solutions, and while I am a very good shot for ranged work, I need to get up-close and personal to be the weapon of mass destruction I was born to be."

"Personally, I see all of those as strengths, but to most people they're a weakness to exploit, and I need to continue to work on all of it to be less-predictable. I've needed to learn to see problems as something other than a nail, and I'm the hammer."

"My real strengths are my determination, my loyalty, and the fact that I care. I care about helping people. I care about my family. And I care about doing the right thing, no matter what."

Yang winked at all them. "Now, my idea of what's 'right' isn't always what the law says it is, but what's life without a little fun, right?"

"So let's chat. What are your strengths? Your weaknesses? How do you think a foe would view you, and how can you use that to your advantage?"

"'Time goes fast', they say, when things are fine and calm and unremarkable," Ender said, "Until any of that changes, and then time goes too slowly, we find ourselves caught in the moment."

He took a sip of his water as he sat back on the lawn.

"It's the end of this first half of a term," he said. "And it's been calm and quiet. Perhaps that means the back half will be more eventful. Or maybe the island has decided to be peaceful for once. Still, it leaves me to wonder."

He set the bottle down.

"What are your hopes for the future?" he said. "That amorphous blob of time that will come at you too slowly and too fast by measures. Are you ambitious? Just trying to get through the next day, the next week, the next month? How do you picture the future?"
