"Konnichiwa, ducklings~~ ♥!" Shunsui greeted the class in the classroom that afternoon not sitting in the usual circle this time, but standing. "Now, don't get too comfortable right away, we'll not be staying in the classroom today, but instead, taking a little trip to highlight this week's word, which, hopefully, weather permitting, should tie in very nicely with last week's word ♥. Allow me to explain..."

With that, he gestured to the board where he had the word, the kanji, and the definition written on it:

shinrinyoku
森林浴
(forest bathing)

"The act of shinrinyoku, or forest bathing, is that of taking a walk through the forest for the restorative and theraputic benefits that one such act can produce, mostly, of course, through the komorebi ♥." Here, he threw the students a little knowing wink. See? How could anyone argue it was barely a class, when he was connecting lessons and everything? "After all, science has actually proven that walking through nature has benefits to your health and happiness, but why let all the scientists have the fun, when we can just go out and experience shinrinyoku ourselfs, neh ♥?

"And it's a lovely day for it, too," he added unless the weather forecast is a LIE, "but still a bit chill, so if you need to run get an extra jacket before we forest bath, please do so, there's no rush." It was literally the whole assignmen for the day, after all. "And then we're off to the woods ♥."

Coming into the classroom today there was another portal and sets of fishing waders for everyone to wear. And a portal...

Which would lead everyone into the hot humid swamp environment. Hopefully everyone wore their waders.

Near the portal were two tables. One contained several vials and the other had a stack of books.

"One of the rites of passage in a science class is to dissect a frog. Which I think is bullshit and a waste of a frog," Barry said gesturing to the vials. "And also? Frogs are boring. So in order to get an idea of what it's like to have green skin and crawl around in a swamp? You can drink the vial over her and turn yourself into an alligator for an hour. After an hour? You turn back to normal. You'll still have your same brain and such so you can at least get an idea of what it is like and remember it."

He then gestured at the other table. "If you're not up for transforming, feel free to write an essay."

"We're going to try a thing today," Nick greeted the class. "We're going to write an outline. Which means you write out everything that happens in your story to keep it all on track."

Why no, Nick had never done this.

Which was evidenced by him pulling out a sheet of paper he'd printed off from Masterclass. At least he would pass out a handout of it for the class.

"You're going to want to ask questions, like what is your premise? And who is your protagonist?" he read, and added, "Remember those character sheets? Yeah, that. What does the protagonist want? What is keeping them from getting what they want? What is your setting? And then you want to plot out all the things that happen and then write those things.

"This is what we're doing for the next few weeks," Nick said. "Write your outline today, and then next week I want to see what you've written of the actual story."
