sake_shinigami: (and....there it is)

The class would be meeting again in the classroom, once more with the room rearranged to have all the desks pushed aside, but instead of a circle for discussion and tea, there were easels with canvases, tables set up with paints and inks and parchments, and clothes laid down on the floor to help keep any unintentional messes from being too difficult to clean up.

"Good morning, ducklings ♥," Shunsui greeted them with the typical sleepy smile. "I hope that those of you who participated in yesterday's cleaning and beautification project aren't entirely painted out yet, because today, I thought it would me nice to explore the Art of Ma through visual represtation and painting, which is possibly one of the simpliest and most evocative methods of expressing Ma, and perhaps a good way of showcasing where you might be on grasping the concepts ♥. We have paints and traditional inksand plenty of blank canvas, scrolls, parchment, cloth, or whatever else you might choose to paint on, and I'd like you to take some time to meditate on the negative space before you, and then cultivate it into something more with your brush strokes. Simple as that ♥.

"Feel free to paint whatever you'd like, as you'd like, but try and keep in mind to cultivate the negative space of your painting in a meaningful way, though, if you're finding your muse a bit elusive and difficult to catch on this particular day, let's discuss ideas and see if we might not be able to ge ta better hold on her, neh ♥? And never mind if you're uncertain of your own artistic talents; I am no painter myself, but today isn't so much about actual talent as it is merely the expression of ideas, and you may very well surprise yourself ♥."

There was a projector set up in the gym today, as well as a number of bean bags. Looks like it's a movie day, kids. The sad, sad jerseys were on the side in case you wanted to wear one for old time's sake.

Please don't.

"So, this weekend your family is supposed to visit, so the death sport we had planned got canceled," Magnus said, looking a little glum about it. "It was so cool too!"

"We'll save it for next week," Cara told him. Was she joking, who knew? "So instead we've got a movie for you."

"It's got everything you could want in it!" he assured the class. "Ladies playing baseball, Madonna when she was trying to be an actress still, and teamwork. Which is important in sports. Almost as important as winning."

"True, but I don't think we're supposed to tell them that bit."

"Ohhhh," Magnus said. "It's the lesson they were supposed to learn along the way. Gotcha gotcha gotcha."

There was a movie set up for the class today. Because, well, everything. And also this weekend would be a little crazy for many people, so it was best to keep things nice and simple to prepare for it.

"Welcome back," Tony said. "Today I'm sure you can guess what we'll be doing."

"Movie day!" Steve announced, just in case they hadn't figured it out. "A nice, soothing movie about the good guys winning."

They needed this, kids. They needed this.

"And, if the movie doesn't hold your attention, we have some postcards should you wish to write to undecided voters, encouraging them to exercise their rights and going to the polls," Tony added.

Steve nodded. "It's gonna be okay," he said in his most reassuring Cap voice.
