"Um," Duke said.

The moose stared at him. And chewed.

"Are you our ungulate for today, or am I in trouble?"

The moose stared. And chewed.

". . . Okay, I'm just going to teach class now."

Stare. Chew.

"Right, so." Duke faced the students. But kept his eyes on the moose. "Today we're doing some relaxing yoga. So grab some cushions and bolsters and prepare to destress."

The moose stared.

And chewed.

"Okay, so," said Summer, as class got started, in the Danger Shop, which was set up a little to look like the set of some kind of game show with individual booths set up for each of the students. "This class was kind of a crapshoot because it wasn't the class I was planning on teaching, it was kind of foisted on me by a moose with an incredibly flawed premise, but, for the most part, if you take anything away from it, I want it to be that the whole point of relationships are being with someone you like in a way that makes you happy. That's it. And that there are a lot of really weird ideas about relationships out there that have sort of...permiated certain cultures based on outdated ideas that are really bogus and no one should ever feel obligated to do something or be a certain way just because someone else or society tells you so. It's all about knowing what you want, and finding someone else who meshes well with what you want.

"But sometimes the issue, especially when you're young, is that you don't know what you want, not really, you're still figuring it out, which is totally cool because it's a process. You're learning. You're figuring this shit out. You're going to make mistakes. A lot of those mistakes are going to suck. But you'll learn and you'll come out more confident in what you want and who you are than you were before. And that's kind of the important thing."

She gave them a soft, hopeful sort of smile, which then turned into a smirk.

"So today," she concluded, "we're going to explore a little what we do actually want in a relationship. I've got the stage set up like a game show because we're basically going to do one of those old dating shows like the Dating Game or Singled Out where there's a person and three contestants and the person asks the contestants questions about them and shit like 'what's your perfect first date?' or 'if we were to get married, what kind of wedding would you want?' and 'what's your opinion on pineapple on pizza?' Stuff like that. Get to Know You Questions, and then, at the end of it, the person picks which contestant sounded like the person they'd want to date. Everyone's got a booth so we can't see who's who, everyone can ask questions and answer them, though, and I rigged the Danger Shop to modulate everyone's voices because then it would be way too obvious who was who. And, at the end of the class, see who matched with you best! Or maybe you didn't really vibe with anyone. That's fine, too. But it's a good way to see what you want and all that junk.

"Any questions? If not, I say we go ahead and grab a booth and get started!"

"Apologies for last week, I found myself indisposed." Hungover and in someone's bed, he meant. "But today we will be moving forward to discuss other reasons for music to exist!"

He was running out of them. Honestly, he was terrible at this teaching thing. There was a reason he put it off as long as he could back at Oxenfurt.

"Dancing. Now, I gather there are fewer organized dances here, and more freestyle. But I've discovered TikTok this week and it has been enlightening," he said excitedly. "So, let us find a dance that we enjoy from there and learn it, yes?"

Or just learn the Single Ladies dance like Jaskier. He was enthralled with the goddess that was Beyonce.
