The NPC-filled tavern was the same as always for once. Although there was just a very minor tweak in that there were some oddly scumbag prank accoutrement scattered throughout.

"Spring break is comin' up fast and man do we need it," Magnus said.

"As evidenced by today's class," Cara added. She was judging herself deeply for it.

"They're not our best goofs," he admitted. "We can do better than this."

"Or we can make you try to do better," Cara said. "As geese." Because through the magic of the Danger Shop, you were about to be turned into geese. Or forced into life-like holographic geese costumes. Same difference. Surprise.

"Ohhh! Like that video game!" Magnus, no.

"Video game?" Cara had just had real life experiences with geese. They were bastards.

"You know, that one game!" Magnus said like that would jog her memory. "I don't know the name of it, but I'm also not the video games journalism boy in this family."

What?

If the fill-in TV stand wasn't a good indication that the shop class was being treated to a substitute teacher today, then the fact that it was Rosa and her bandaged hands standing there beside it and not Amaya to help you along. And there was a slightly smaller chance of this sub blowing things up.

Slightly.

"Blackstone couldn't make it in today," Rosa explained, "and since I probably shouldn't be handling heavy equipment right now," shouldn't, it should be noted, did not necessarily mean wouldn't, "you're going to get a series of videos on how shit is made. Which might sound kind of boring, but they're actually really oddly fascinating. Anyway..."

Excuse her a moment while it took maybe a moment or two to actually manage to hit the Play button with those gauze paws.

"There are so many streaming services these days, and they all want you to pay them money, and technically, I guess, piracy is illegal or whatever," Vanessa said. "So what's a discerning media consumer to do when Netflix has one show you want to watch, and Disney+ has that show with the cute baby alien, and that other show you want to watch is on Hulu? You have options! Of course, one of them is 'steal someone else's credit card,' but much less illegal is 'get someone else's password.' But that's another class. Today we're going to talk about making the most of your free trial period."

"Clear your schedule, take some vacation days, get ready to settle in for just this. Just. This." That was healthy, right?

"Get it all in before you have to pay for it," Vanessa agreed. "This works best when there's just one show you want to watch, and you may want to stock up on sock email accounts for future seasons. And then, and this is very important, cancel your trial."

"We forgot once and had to commit credit card fraud. It was a whole thing." That he was just freely sharing with the class.

"Yeah, don't do that," Vanessa said. "Or, if you do that, don't get caught." She winked broadly at the class. "Your assignment...uh, I don't know. Did we come up with an assignment?"

"Pick a service to do a free trial on?"

That sounded good, right?

"And," Vanessa proclaimed, "Figure out how you're going to watch everything you want to on that service before your trial runs out."

"Since there's a break next week," Seivarden began, looking at the class, "and I suspect most of you are going on the trip, I want to address how you behave in a civilized manner while relaxing in a foreign environment."

She glanced at Mae if she was there.

"However, I'm not going to start with a lecture, instead you're going to have a discussion. What interactions with other people do you expect? What kind of things to you expect to do? How do you make sure you maintain a civilized behaviour?"

She gestured with a hand. "Go ahead."
