"Morning, everyone!" Amaya greeted the students with the usual nod and a faint smile, a look that said she was ready, as always to get to work. "It's been a while since we've gotten any use out of the saws in this here workshop, so today, I figured we'd get back to a little woodworking, for an oldie but goodie that's always a lot of fun, while I try to decide if I want to go ahead and give you all a big final project for this semester, or if that's just asking for trouble, since I've been here long enough to know just what a crap-shoot the month of December can be. If there's anything in particular you'd be interested in squeezing in, though, before things get a little crazy, let me know, and I'll see what we can do, because I always love a few good ideas on where to take the class.

"But today, we're going to try our hand at a codex type of puzzle box. As I mentioned, we'll be working with wood and there's a lot of defined parts and pieces, so that means using the scroll saw, but if the power saws still make you a bit squeamish, I've precut some pieces and we can go from there."
