Aphra looked totally chill when teh class showed up to the Danger Shop today.

"Look, kids, regardless of how you feel about telling the truth, it's important to know when someone is lying to you. You know, like when they say things like 'this job's legit', or 'cult, what cult?', or 'you don't need to bring your weapons'." Or ' Of course I didn't load the wrong simulation'.

Not that the last of those had anything to do with the tentacles that just burst through the floor. At all.

Surprise?

"Well, everyone," said Amaya as soon as class was ready to get started. "Hard to believe it, but there's actually not a whole lot of time left of the semester, so it's already time for us to get started on our end-of-class projects now...if we want to fit in everything I'd like you all to do. So this next one's going to be a two-parter, and another chance to crack out those mini-foundries we made earlier, before diving in to the real big project. For now, though, casting!

"We'll be melting and pouring metal like we did with the biscuit trays next week, but before then, we're going to actually make our own mold, so you'll be deciding what little metal shapes you'd like. The method we're using can use nearly anything to make a mold out of, but that's not as much fun, is it, just using whatever's already there when you can make what you want to mold into metal instead. Give you a little more creative freedom, make it a little more special.

"You should all be pretty familiar with the saws at his point, and if you'd like to give the lathe a whirl, we can go over that and get some use out of it, too, so we'll be using wood to make our models. Wood's pretty easy to work with, but if you're having trouble getting it to do what you'd like, just let me know, we'll figure it out. So take some time, think about what you'd like to cast in metal, make yourself a plan on how to construct it out of wood, and then get to it! If you'd like to use a material other than wood, like clay or something like that, feel free to do that as well, but these aren't meant to be anything too fancy or complex, just something to give us the right shape and form for our molds. In fact, too much fussy detail, and you're likely to lose a lot of it in the molding and casting process, anyway.

"Remember, too! Safety first when working with any of the equipment and it's probably not a terrible idea to work with gloves when you're handing the wood. Splinters aren't a whole lot of fun, but I do have tweezers on hand if we need 'em."

"Today we will be heading out once again," Hannibal said, as if meeting at Portalocity wasn't the first hint. "However, it will be less about going someplace on Earth, and more about going someplace under it."

Sorry, Prompto.

"Today we'll be heading to North Wales," Jono offered, looking faintly amused, "to some manner of amusement park set up in some underground caverns. Caves and nets, mostly."

What wasn't to love?

"Wales is known for its mines," Hannibal explained, "but when those dry up, apparently they like to make the best of it."

By installing nets and trampolines and funky lighting.

"If you would prefer to simply watch, there are tickets for that, too." But who wouldn't want to bounce around a cavern?

"Either way, enjoy."

As it happened, neither teacher was in the classroom today. Which was possibly an issue of scheduling on their part.

But there was a video all queued up for the class to watch. What it had to do with the subject... that was debatable.

"Apologies, neither Mr. Stark nor Captain Rogers were available today," a cultured British voice said. "Please enjoy the provided entertainment in their absence."

Well, at least JARVIS remembered class.

Back in the dance studio, rather than the Danger Shop, so odds were good that whatever had been bothering their teacher last week was at least...mostly over? So that was a bonus.

"Today, we're learning the main step for salsa dancing," Verity explained. "It's actually a very easy dance - basically a walk, with your hips and arms doing most of the work to sell it as a dance number."

After stretches, she had them line up. "First, you're going to bend your knees a bit, enough so you can feel the stretch in your thighs, but you're still able to walk. Start with your right leg taking a step forward. Take another step forward with your left leg, then pick up your right foot and put it back down in the same place it was in before. Honestly, you're taking a few steps forward and then a few steps back, back and forth. That's it. That's the whole dance."

She demonstrated for them. It was two steps forward, then three steps back. That landed her on her right foot one step behind where she had started from. One step forward on her left foot got her back to her starting position, and then she was doing the original step all over again: two steps forward, starting on her right foot again. "If your knees weren't bent, it would just look like you're walking in place," she said. "But the knees make your hips exaggerate and then you move your arms, too." She demonstrated. "After that, it's all starting the music and making sure your steps fall on the beat."
