"Welcome back, everyone," Amaya grinned faintly, nodding at the students as they got to the shop. "We've been spending the first couple of weeks getting to know some of the equipment. We haven't touched on everything quite yet, but I figured we'd take a departure from learning about the equipment to making some of our own."

That's right, it was mini-foundry day! True, this was only her second time doing this project, but it was already one of her favorites.

"This is a project that'll cover a handful of weeks, but we'll be making our own mini-forges that'll help us in future projects that'll require us to melt down some metal." Which would, of course, be the coolest projects of all.

Because who doesn't want a little mini furnace that can melt your face off? )

"And that's pretty much it! Nice work today! If you'd like, I've got some metal spray paint in a few different colors if you want to give your buckets a little personal touch before you leave; we can leave them to dry so they're good and ready next week, and we'll get to use them. Any questions before we go?"

There was new movie ready for the class to watch, continuing the theme of ridiculous car mods. Which had to be fun, right? The teachers certainly thought they were fun.

"Very nice to see everyone is the right size after this past weekend," Tony said. Because that had been new and terrible.

"That was...interesting," Steve hedged.

Interesting was a good word for it. A good, slightly understated word for it.

Tony cleared his throat, offering the class a smile. "So, we were torn between the movie we'll be watching today and Battlebots, but eventually settled on this. But I do recommend watching that show outside of class for further ideas."

"The cars in this movie are larger than life, so next week, when you fabricate, think...half size. Maybe a quarter," Steve said. "And then we'll fight 'em against each other!"

"Maybe a little less lethal too?" Tony suggested.

"Definitely less lethal," Steve said, giving Beaker a side-eye.

Hannibal was chipper today. Which meant that Jono could tell he was pleased, and to everybody else he'd just seem content.

"We didn't advise you to dress any particular way this week, because we will be indoors," he said. "Not all of the world's interesting places are particularly beautiful or scientifically or artistically superior. Some are simply amusing. Many, unsurprisingly, revolve around money."

He took out money and split it up, passing it out to the children. "You may of course spend your own money if you like, but we thought we might give you a bit extra." Each of them got fifty dollars.

"Today, we are going to the West Edmonton Mall. The largest shopping area in the Americas - the pair of continents we're nominally a part of. It contains over eight hundred stores, over one hundred places to eat, and the world's largest indoor amusement park."

//Also has an olympic-sized skating rink, a giant bloody wave pool with what at one point was the world's tallest indoor free-fall waterslide, several cinemas, and the occasional petting zoo,// Jono offered. //Plus a lake. With a life-sized re-creation of the Santa Maria. And underground sea life caverns. Some sea lions...//

This mall was a bit extra.

//We'll be spending the entirety of this class here, but an hour isn't long enough to see everything, and so you're welcome to stick around a little longer still. Hannibal and I will be here - I have been talked into shopping hell, this is my life for at least another few hours - and will be meeting people by the koi ponds in Chinatown to send them home via portal on the hour until... I don't know. Seven. Seven seems like a good time before everything starts to shut down.//

"We will also have our phones, should you wish to contact us or have any questions," Hannibal volunteered. "Otherwise, please enjoy a sampling of Earth's commodities and services, and do try not to get yourselves kicked out."

The Freakshow was about to reopen under Kitty's management and Verity was run ragged trying to get the choreography right. She'd been up until dawn going over the steps for the dancers and ended up dragging herself into class without sleeping.

"No dancing today," she announced when the class arrived. "Sorry, kids. Movie day. It's got some of my favorite tango dances in it."

And then she was going to sit at her desk and try not to fall asleep.
