intraspective: (listen listen)

Today class wasn’t meeting in a normal classroom. They weren’t meeting in the danger shop either. Instead, they were down on the beach.

"It’s explosion class today," Ino announced. "And the very most important thing to learn is that there’s never a bad day for explosions! The second," her expression sobered slightly, "is that if you’re a dumbass about them, you’re going to get hurt."

If they were a dumbass about it, she wasn’t going to feel sorry for them.

"Now, since this is a summer thing, and we’re not supposed to be crazy serious about anything but fun, we’re not talking, like, bombs today. But those ain’t the only kinds of explosions!"

More under the cut! )

She lobbed packs of matches at her class.

"Now go prove you all ain’t dumbasses."

The Danger Shop was done up to look like Wimbledon. You know, in case there were literally any students who caught that. Either way, Tony was working hard on the authenticity here.

"Welcome back, today we'll be learning about the ins and outs of tennis," Tony said, resting a racket on his shoulder like he just stepped out of an 80's movie. But he didn't look like he shut down a community center because of greed. So there was that.

"Which is not as much fun as stickball," Steve declared.

"Less danger of being hit by a car or falling into a dumpster, though," Tony pointed out. "Which I'm sure our class appreciates."

"Falling into the dumpster only happens every now and again," Steve said, "but then we're not wearing silly white shorts, so..."

Tony maturely stuck his tongue out at his fellow teacher before turning his attention back to the class. "Pick up a racket and we'll demonstrate the basic motions and rules for you. White shorts are not required."

"But first, no doubt, a video," Steve said, sounding long-suffering.

"This one's on the dangers of Athlete's foot," Tony said brightly. Because Fury was an awful man like that.

Aphra's class was actually off the island this week, contain your excitement, kids.

In a surprising and not at all suspicious twist, they arrived on a stunning bay bordered by lush jungle, with a bustling town off in the distance.

"Welcome to Rishi," Aphra said cheerfully. "Now, technically, there aren't any active digsites on planet at the moment, but I'm not going to let that stop us." Mostly because the permits for visiting a planet with any actual digs were still caught up in red tape. Also she didn't have the credits for Zeltros.

"Because history is everywhere," she said. "Just waiting for you to find it. And I'll be right here while you do that. Supervising." From what looked suspicious like a deckchair.
