There was something strange going on amongst the art books.

At first Tip did her best to ignore the rustling and occasional thumps in the 700 block of the stacks. She'd been warned when she took this job that sometimes the books got . . . disruptive . . . and she was determined to let them sort things out for themselves. But then there was something that sounded like glass breaking, and some business textbooks got involved, and Tip finally felt she had to go over and check.

Two books sat in the middle of the floor, stood on end with their pages flapping in a faint breeze, facing each other. They were both streaked liberally with black and pink -- or maybe that should be Black and Pink -- and some very glittery shards of glass sat piled between them.

"Great," Tip said. "And you just know I'm the one who's gonna have to clean up after you two."

She considered it a terrible sign for her mental health that she as pretty sure both books faintly blushed.
