Lucille was ignoring the books. All of them. Well, she did pick up a few to read, but other than that they got no attention from her today.

It wasn't that they were doing anything in particular. In fact they were rather quiet today. No, this was punishment for all the Fridays they had been troublesome, and Lucille was assuming that attention was what the books craved so they would get none of it from her today.

Eventually she began to wonder if that was truly the case. Did the books want to be read? Did they want attention? The gave no hint either way and Lucille saw no reason to change her strategy.
