"Meetings can be productive things that allow you and your coworkers to be on the same page for projects or the day to day activities involved in your job," Tony said, ever so slightly manic in his smile. He in no way had enough coffee to function as a proper adult for class today. But he was going to soldier no through it like he'd been doing all week. "Or... they can be hellish experiences that waste precious time better spent doing more productive things."

Like braining yourself on your desk.

"Sometimes they start as one and spiral into the other," Steve said. "Especially if a Power Point presentation is involved." And the presenter reads them aloud. Slowly. The worst.

Tony shot him a look and mouthed 'really?" at him. Because that had to be covered in the Geneva Conventions, right? "I can never look at SHIELD the same way," he muttered. "Unfortunately these might just be part of life and the best you can do is get through them without getting into a fist fight."

"So today we're looking for productive solutions to getting through those meetings that isn't sending your AI and pretending to be sick."

Tony. Steve's version, but still.

But now he went and gave this Tony the idea for it. For shame, Steve.

"But creativity is always good," Tony said with a more genuine grin.

"Welcome to your last day of class," Karla said, as the students filed in to their customary gifts of treats and tea. "Today, we're talking about sex. Writing about it, anyway." She leaned back on her desk, ankles crossing one another as she spoke. "Now, first and foremost, your romance novel does not need to include sex. You might choose to have the scene fade to black once it's established what your characters have in mind. You might write sex-repulsed or low-libido characters. There are plenty of reasons you could decide not to incorporate sex in your novel and they're all fine. However, for those of you who do wish to include such scenes, then there are a few things you should keep in mind."

Let's talk about sex, baby )

"And lastly--while sex scenes can certainly exist for their own sake, much of sex is written for other reasons. Take the opportunity to figure out what that scene says about the characters and their relationship. Does your cool and aloof character have a shy side? Maybe it comes out during sex. Does your character have issues trusting people? Sex is an excellent place to explore that. Do you want to slyly poke fun at national politics? Sex can do that, too." And yes, everyone was getting a copy of that novel. Again, you were welcome class.

Cara had her class meet her down at the causeway, where she tossed them a wallet each.

"So you survived the summer, congratulations." She was not actually being sarcastic there. "You've also displayed relatively consistent judgement, so I can hope that if I send you out exploring, which is exactly what I'm doing, you won't get into too much trouble or miss the island moving on or need me to bail you out." Don't need bailing out, Cara would do it, but she'd also mock you.

She made a little shooing motion with her hands. "Go, have fun, I'll be in the Onsen if any of you need me."

"Right." Bob clapped his hands together. "It's finals. Time to use what you've learned."

Which was so much, right? They were excellent teachers, after all.

Well, Kanan was going to reserve judgement on that one at least until after class was officially over.

"No big lecture this week," he shared. "Just a handful of candy on each of your desks."

Candy was dandy and all that, after all.

"Equal amounts," Bob said, checking to make sure that was the case, since he hadn't been the one to put it there. "For now."

"Yes, Bob. Contrary to popular belief, I can count," Kanan snorted, though he was smirking faintly. "Anyway, we're going to get you guys to mingle. Talk among yourselves. Bring your candy along for the ride, and try not to eat any before the class is through."

"Do whatever you like, say whatever you like." Bob paused. "Within reason, please, this is still a school. More or less."

"More or less," Kanan agreed. "You're going to try to woo that candy out of the hands of your classmates and into your own collection. There aren't any prizes for who gets the most candy; the prize is the candy itself. But we are handing out grades for creativity and relative candy piles by the end of the class, so be fierce. Or overly pleasant. Or whatever. No hitting."

"He - or she - who ends with the most, wins!" Bob finished cheerfully.

"You get bragging rights. And candy," Kanan agreed. "And I'm sure everybody will be very proud of you. So. Get to it."
