While Face was kind of sad he wasn't able to fly under his own power any longer, he had to admit that not being a pony made his various library duties much easier.

Though if he could find the rest of his caf, they might be even easier.

Deadpool was not on his phone this time around. But the phone was nearby and stuck on a loading screen because apparently no one wanted him to hatch his goddamn 10k egg anytime soon. "Hey, kids. Welcome back. Glad to see no one got lost hunting for cheese."

Vanessa was totally not pouting about a similar issue.  “Today’s lesson is about patience.  You have to be patient with other people.”  And the Pokemon Go servers.

Mostly the servers, to be honest.

"Take for example if your partner isn't dealing with some bad news in the best fashion possible," Deadpool said. "You know. Hypothetically."

Had nothing to do with him.

Communication might also be a good idea there,” Vanessa said, not at all pointedly, nope.

"So, basically we're talking about two things here!" Ahahaha, their relationship drama as classroom fodder. "Which has nothing to do with your teachers, so don't ask."

Right, because they were professionals who could keep their private lives private oh wait.  “Anyway. Patience! Sometimes someone is not going to come around to your way of thinking right away, or talk to you about what’s bugging them.  So.  You have to learn patience.”  Great speech there Vanessa good job.

"And sometimes you have to spit it the fuck out rather than mope around like a whiney little pissbaby who was hiding from your problems instead of confronting them for the betterment of your relationships," Deadpool added with maybe a little vehemence. "God, I hope I learned that lesson and don't have to repeat it in the sequel…"

“Yes, I agree, but with maybe a little less swearing in front of the students, honey.”

Deadpool nodded in complete understanding. "Spit it the frick out. But I stand by pissbaby."

“So let’s talk about patience!” Vanessa said with slightly false brightness.  She was still working on getting comfortable with this teaching thing.  “When was a time you had to be patient, or that being patient would have helped you?”

"Hello and welcome to South Dakota," Anakin said. "Apparently." He waved around at the various planes arranged outside for the air show. "There will be demonstrations of all kinds of different airplanes in a few minutes, but for now, take a look around at the various airplanes, ask a lot of questions of the people standing near them, and make it back here in time for the Blue Angels."

Which are what, Anakin?

Here, Jaina could help with that!

"They're show offs who do tricks in planes," she said helpfully.

"Like X-Wings but less impressive," Anakin said, ignoring the dirty looks from the other passersby.

"It's the Navy's flight demonstration team. Honestly, it can be impressive if you're into that sort of thing," Jaina said. "You'll get to decide that for yourself once you see them."

Anakin consulted his schedule. "Which is in almost an hour. Until then, learn more about airplanes, get an iced tea and a burned hamburger, and have fun."

Like Anakin knew about fun.

Ender waited until everyone was seated on the lawn, as per usual; his eyes skipped over the class, lingering briefly on Mara if she was there, since she'd inspired today's class.

"Friendship," he said, "is a virtue which is ‘most necessary with a view to living … for without friends no one would choose to live, though he had all other goods’. At least, that's according to Aristotle, one of our most ancient philosophers. His definition of friendship is two people who bear good will towards each other, without this escaping their notice. With this, he meant that friendships had to be based on one of three things: an appreciation of each other's goodness, or pleasantness, or usefulness. Friendships based in full appreciation of each other and a willingness to wish each other well even when there's no immediate advantage in it for you, well, those were greatest of all."

He smiled faintly. "It sounds like a romantic ideal, but it's also good advice," he said. "Of course, Aristotle also believed there was such a thing as perfect friendship - to have a friend who is like another self. To appreciate each other's ability to exercise reason and virtue, that, he felt, was most important. You could certainly argue with that more strongly."

"One thing hasn't changed since Aristotle's time, though, and that's that we value such social bonds strongly," he continued. "Most cultures have some kind of fundamental belief about the necessity of friendship, though not everyone agrees on what that should be like. Or how to accomplish it. I'd like us to talk about this for a bit: have you ever had something approaching a 'perfect friend'? Do you believe you can sort friendships the way Aristotle did, or are things murkier? Is friendship that important to you?"

There. This shouldn't be too hard, surely. It was a nice day, even if the lawn smelled like cheese.

//Morning, class,// Jono greeted as today's class began. //Last week we talked mainly about change that you can control. This week, we're going to discuss the opposite, those changes that hit hard and fast, without warning. The sort that you can't really prepare for, because the world isn't the sort of place that you can predict, no matter how good you are at preparing for the worst.//
