Bob had thought, with all the chaos going on, they should probably cancel class.

Then he'd found out that his co-teacher was some sort of cat.

He took a long enough break from the library to go and write on the classroom door. When the students showed up, they'd find in glowing golden letters:

This week's lesson: Turning people into other species is a very bad way of winning friends.
Come to the library and help, or go home and stay out of the way!

Class was definitely cancelled.

"Hey guys," Fred said, not in costume today. Class was in the Danger Shop, and each student would find a wooden trunk at their feet. "Sorry I missed last week's first class of the semester. Something came up, which is no excuse. You're here to learn and you deserve my undivided attention, which I promise you'll get from here on out. Because I'm here for you." Either Fred was really laying it on thick, or he had absolutely been messed with.

"Welcome to Throwing Things. I'm your mentor, Fred Myers. But please, call me Fred. And since we didn't do it last week, we're going to start with introductions. Not just for yourself, though. Because today we're going to learn how to throw your voice. That's right. You're going to learn to use puppets!" Specifically ventriloquist dummies "Open up the trunks next to you, meet your new best friend, listen to me explain how to throw your voice, and then you'll introduce yourself and your friend! Doesn't that sound like the best thing?"

There was a deeply annoyed pony at the front of the classroom today.

"Let's talk about recognising problems," Cara said, gesturing with a wing and a hoof. "For example, if something like this happens during the week and lasts longer than a day, especially at certain times of the year, it usually means the rest of the week's going to involve either the island screwing with us or something invading which results in the island screwing with us."

She'd been on this island too damn long, she knew how this went by now. "So, today's class, use some common sense to figure out what the best thing you can do in this situation is and go do it."

Library, Friday

Today a dragon sat behind the desk, reading a novel. Given her current state Lucille felt she was excused from doing much work today, but at least the library was open. She did her best not to get chocolate and the remains of cotton candy clouds over the books. Trying out her wings had been a bad idea.

[Open! Wait for OCD. OCD is up for your library needs.]

A small, hyperactive pony was galloping around the class. Ben coughed. "I guess this class could be about what happens when your toddler turns into a pony..."

"Perhaps," said a somewhat harried Obi-Wan, "It would be best if we allowed everyone to go home, instead. There is something of a crisis outside, after all."

Understatement.

"And since a good chunk of you are without fingers right now..." Ben agreed, "it's not like you can write anything down. But if this is your first event like this and you have some questions, we'd be happy to try to help."

"We will be here until the end of the class, and otherwise, you may find me in the library," Obi-Wan said. He bowed to the class. "May the Force be with you."
