"Well, you've learned how to be at least a moderately successful supervillain these past few weeks. Congratulations," Fred said. "But here's a little something that you have to consider. What if a situation was presented where you could be a superhero? As I've mentioned, it happened to me a couple times. First time sucked. Second time, I was a Thunderbolt. Still have the logo and everything." And he did. It was the belt buckle on his costume, even though he didn't really even have a belt.

"I was in jail. The Thunderbolts were a program looking to reform supervillains by letting them be superheroes. One group based out of a supervillain prison called The Raft was working out pretty well, so they put together a B-team. I figured I'd get in some good behavior and volunteered, passed a few tests and a psych check, and boom. Card carrying superhero. I helped stop a prison break from the Raft, fought some modern Nazis, went back in time and fought original Nazis, ended up in the future and fought future dystopian Nazis, and ended up back in the present to help stop that dystopia from ever happening. It was a pretty good time."

"And guess what. Today, you're officially Thunderbolts, too." Fred held out circular badges with a little lightning bolt on it. He had no authority to do this, but if it ever somehow got back to Luke Cage, it would annoy the crap out of him. That was enough. "Look deep inside your hearts and somehow find the strength to rescue a baby from that burning building."

Suddenly the Danger Shop program changed. There was a burning building right over there and a baby was crying. Get to work!

In a shocking departure from form, Cara did not have her class meet her at the Onsen. Instead she led them into Eternos City, and down to the entrance of the Temple of the Sun.

"So, let's see if you've been paying attention," she said. "We're going exploring. No going off on your own, stay within sight of the group, and if something looks dangerous, let me take care of it."

Because if she couldn't have her soak, maybe she'd get to kill something.

"We'll end this session's class with one of my favorite stories about Fandom," Ben said with a little grin. "You see, my dad is a twin, and he and his sister were separated at birth for their own safety because there was a huge war and they'd be great pawns, et cetera, et cetera." His eyes twinkled at Obi-Wan. "So there was this huge adventure when my dad was a teenager, got off the isolated sand dune of a planet he'd been living on...and met his twin sister. But no one told him it was his twin. So after this first adventure, he got sent here to get off of the Emperor's radar and ran into a bout of Fandom weirdness. Boys turned into girls for the weekend, and Dad's body turned into that of this girl Leia that he knew."

Ben snickered. "Sorry. Trying to imagine Dad attempting Aunt Leia's hair. It's...elaborate, and he's basically had the same bowl cut for 70 years."

"He clearly did not get his hair care regimen from his father, then," Obi-Wan said wryly. "Did I ever mention the time he shaved his entire head as a teenager--? No matter."

He cleared his throat. "Fandom has many surprises in store for you all," he said. "This may well be one of them. So the question we end this class on is: just how well do you know your family-- and how badly can they come and mess things up for you?"

The library had seemed like a quiet place at first, although not in the uncanny way it had been last week. Lucille had browsed the bookshelf for young adult novels of the romantic kind, thinking that perhaps she could find something she enjoyed and could recommend to Cassandra later.

The other books were giggling behing behind her back. Particularly those in the poetry section. Where they judging her reading choices? Lucille hurried back to the desk, cradling a few novels in her arms.
