Bond had broken out the movie theatre simulation again in the Danger Shop.

"Given that this weekend may have left some of you distracted," he began after greeting them. "Which is a good way to get yourself hurt doing these kinds of sports, we'll be watching a "movie instead."

Kanan stood at the front of the class today, wearing a thoughtful frown. He still couldn't remember all of the particulars from the weekend, but what he could remember, hazy as it all was, had him seriously contemplating just vanishing from the island and getting himself stuck in that village with all the furry little locals. They seemed nice enough, anyway. And he doubted any of them had ever heard of Jedi.

Which meant that his topic for today was... somewhat inspired.

"Sometimes," Kanan said, "you need to run. Not necessarily literally, even if sometimes it might come down to an actual chase on foot. I mean in that more figurative sense, where you pack up and leave and you don't look back, because what you'd be looking back at is no good for you and you don't completely know what's in front of you. Some of you might be familiar with that already. Maybe none of you are. I'm not going to ask which category you fall into. But I am going to say that, if you need to take off from somewhere on zero notice, you're going to need to prioritize. Most people can't exactly carry everything they've ever known in their arms when they skip town, and they sure as hell can't pack it all in an hour or less."

He gave a wry smile, one that spoke of experience that was all too personal.

"So, what you need to do is sort out those priorities. There are more reasons people might need to run than just to hide from somebody, after all. Evacuations happen all the time, people running from war or natural disaster, and what they grab in their last minute panic might not take into consideration their need for money or medication or clothing, or might leave behind some treasured item that they'd be tempted to go back to retrieve, however unsafe it might be to do so. So today, I want you guys to talk about one thing that you might reach for, if you need to drop everything and go. It might seem like an easy task right now, but in the heat of the moment I've seen people grab a melon and one half of a pair of boots, and leave anything of any use behind. It's not as simple when you're in a hurry as you might think."

Kanan didn't at all have this down to a science, himself. Honest.

One of the great things about teaching a class all about fun things to do indoors? You didn't even need a reason to show a movie the week after one of Those Weekends.

He had the class meet him in front of Luke's Diner, for reasons that would soon become obvious. "So, movies," he said. "Great way to beat the heat. You're in a cool, air conditioned theater, usually watchin' somethin' decent. May not be the best movie in the world, but it's a rare movie that's not worth the two hours of time it takes to watch it. An' if you're good at goin' unnoticed, you can easily go from one movie to the next, so your one ticket purchase can be good for a whole afternoon of entertainment."

Look, if the school had wanted the students to learn lessons about honesty and working hard, they shouldn't have hired a thief.

"The one thing you can't cheat is the concession stand prices. Well, naw, that ain't entirely true. There are plenty of ways to cheat concession stand prices, but that ain't what I'm teachin' y'all today. The best way to get out of payin' for overpriced snacks is to bring your own. So, I'mma teach you how--though if you got some ideas, feel free to share with the class. Also, I'm expectin' y'all to only use this for big chains an' cineplexes. Small, mom an' pop theaters or specialty theaters need revenue from concessions to stay in business. Scammin' big business is okay, scammin' small folks ain't."

The Leverage motto right there. Ish. He'd summed it up.

"Also, don't try that nonsense about tryna sneak someone in. They're watchin' for that. Also, think about what you're tryna sneak in. Soda in cans won't work, the noise that you make when you open 'em is too distinctive. Anythin' super-loud that'll annoy the other patrons is also a bad idea, cause they might rat you out if you're interruptin' their movie by openin' bags of chips or clinkin' silverware. And the easiest way to get caught is to bring somethin' in that smells. Good or bad, it doesn't matter. The scent of somethin' other than popcorn'll get you caught real quick. So, instead, this is what you do."

Then he went on to describe several easy ways the students could sneak food in, though he downplayed using purses and backpacks, as those were more likely to get searched.

"A'ight," he said, and dragged out a box filled with moddable candy, supplies, and clothing. "This is hard mode, cause it's summer and y'all can't wear jackets an' sweatshirts an' snowboots to sneak candy inside. We're gonna load up, head to the movie theater, an' we'll see what y'all can sneak inside."
