Cara did not lead her class across the causeway this week, because that would be too easy. Instead she led them to a clearing the the preserve.

"So you're on a quest, you've figured out who's doing what, now comes the next part," she said. "Adventures tend to happen outside, which is great if you're the outdoors type who enjoys rain, mud, insects, random bandits trying to kill you, lost farm animals and children, sheep stuck up trees, the list goes on." Cara was only occasionally a fan of the great outdoors.

"So your job today is to turn this clearing into a suitable camp site, or at the very least figure out what you'd need to do so."

"Not all familiar faces who make it to these shores are actually familiar," Obi-Wan began. "This school has a lively history of what is commonly referred to as doppelgangers. People who share the same face as a friend or a relative, yet have no connection to them whatsoever."

"My first summer here as a student there was another student who looked just like my older cousin," Ben said. "It was extremely disconcerting."

"It creates a uniquely complicated situation," Obi-Wan said. "It is easy to simply try and ignore them, though circumstances may occasionally make this difficult. A different path would be to befriend them, so eventually whatever unique features they may have begin to pave over the memories one has of the person they most resemble."

He gave a vague wave at the class. "Of course, that may not be emotionally feasible, especially if that person is tied to... traumatic occurrences."

Ben nodded hard. "I spent a lot of the summer camped out on the beach, which is really not the healthiest choice."

"As with most of our topics during the course of this semester, we hope to help you prepare yourself for an occurrence such as this," Obi-Wan said. "What would be the best way to handle it? Can you think of someone whose very face may cause you anguish to the point of self-banishment?"

Class met in the Danger Shop again today; this time they were faced with a hedge several stories tall. Bob had gotten Mabel to bring the box of life vests in, and he greeted his students with a smile and nod. "Today, your job is to get from here, to the other side of that," he said, pointing at the hedge. There was a door-sized hole in one side. "It won't be straightforward. Or even straight up or down. Fortunately, you've got these." He waved at the vests. "Put one on, fly through the maze, and find the other side. Simple!"

Well, it was simple when you could just walk through things, anyway.

"I'll see you all on the other side!"

Hey class, have a note on the door to the Danger Shop.

Part of supervillainy is taking advantage of situations. It's a holiday weekend and I only have to skip one class period to make it a four day weekend. You should do the same!

Sorry to anyone who has other classes today and Monday. I'll pour one out for you.

Boomerang

He wasn't going to pour one out unless "out" meant "into his mouth so he could drink it."

Anyway, no class!
