Brian's class today was meeting in space. Well, in the Danger Shop, but in space. "Your final is--no, I'm just kidding, forget finals. You made it through the semester! A bunch of you wanted to learn how to fly spaceships, and we didn't get to that, so to make up for it I've pulled up a bunch of handwavey spaceships this thing had programmed in, and you can pick out whatever one you want and it'll put you through the handwavey training module. Try not to blow yourselves up too many times. If anyone has any questions, I'll try to answer them, but this is...uh, not really my area of expertise." Give him four wheels and a combustion engine any day of the week.

Like she usually did for her final class of a semester, Cara had her students meet her at the Onsen, where she was already in the water.

"Carefully applied violence will solve a whole host of problems," she said. "But sometimes you need anpther fix, and this is one that far too few people on this island appreciate. It's especially useful if you've been fighting a lot as it gives your muscles a chance to recover.

"So get in, relax, and consider the fact we're overdue for the island to go into chaos and try to kill us."

Steve looked vaguely embarrassed as he stood in front of the class. "So we didn't exactly get all the way through the 20th Century," he said, "but I hope you learned a lot about the stuff we did get through. There's a test."

Because there was always a test.

"Have a good summer, unless you're sticking around and then I hope I see you in my next class."

The books were reading aloud to themselves today. As they were all reading from themselves it was impossible to actually make sense of any of it. The combined voices of the library turned into a cacophony of syllables, where only a word here and there was audible.

"Libraries are supposed to be places of silence," Lucille muttered to herself, but no one paid any attention to her.
