It was the end of the school semester, meaning finals were happening. Well, in a normal class that was not taught by a hyperactive pony and a surly werewolf, finals were happening.

Aren't you glad you picked this class?

Pinkie greeted the class as they entered, wearing what might be the most absurd thing she'd put on, yet. She was somehow even more excited and hyper than usual.

It might have to do with the entire box of candy canes she'd eaten, earlier. God help you all.

Derek looked like his usual self, but he had a tray of cookies in his hands. They were possibly baked by Pinkie Pie based on how amazing the decorations on them were. Also, edible glitter.

Edible glitter was Pinkie's favorite thing this week.

"Hi hi hi hi hi hi!" Pinkie said, once class was scheduled to begin. "So back in Equestria, we have a tradition around this time of year I want to share with all of you! Normally there'd be a whole big pageant with songs and sets and costumes and everything, but since the ducks in the park will not take direction --" ugh, ducks "-- I don't have anypony to help me out with that, so I'll just tell the story to you myself! Don't worry, I'm real good at funny voices and I know all the songs by heart."

I know you were worried.

Derek certainly was. Though his worries were probably for a different reason. "...pageant?"

Pinkie gasped in delight. "Maybe you can help me put one on next year!"

Aren't you glad you asked, Derek? Aren't you?

Derek sighed, resigning himself to his fate of never winning anything. At least he had cookies, though. "Just tell the story," he grumbled, going to shove holiday cheer in baked goods form at their students.

"Okay, but you'd make a great Commander Hurricane," Pinkie said. "Just sayin'."

"Well," Thor told his assembled students once they'd gathered in the Danger Shop. And yes, he'd made sure to check that everyone had their usual limbs as they entered the class. He learned that particular lesson the hard way. "We've reached the end of our journey together. I can only hope I've equipped you with some of the skills necessary to successfully complete a quest."

He pressed a button, and a large ball pit appeared in the room. ON PURPOSE THIS TIME. "As for your final exam... I thought we'd revisit a scenario we've seen before. Somewhere amongst these brightly coloured orbs is a silver one. Your task is to find it before any of your classmates." If, of course, you also chose to play in the ball pit, well... he wasn't going to penalize anyone for it.

When the students arrived, they would find that Ghanima had once again provided moddable treats from JGoB and the Perk, all of which were piled on tables against the back wall of the classroom.

"Welcome back," Ghanima said brightly. "You've managed to make it all the way to the last class, and hopefully you even picked up a thing or two along the way. We've made it all the way through Tzu's Art of War, so today you'll get a bit of a break on the note-taking aspect of class."

"Last week, I asked to uncover some tidbit of information to which you would not normally be privy, either via another spy or by doing the digging yourself. You will not need to share exactly what you learned, if that makes you uncomfortable, merely the method used to discover the information. I am curious to find out how your foray into intelligence gathering went. How do you feel about it? Is this information something you could use to your benefit? Would you?"

After the students had recounted their possibly handwavey exploits, Ghanima nodded thoughtfully. "To some, the ethics of spying are rather straight forward. To others, it holds infinite shades of gray." She smiled brightly at the students as she wandered the rows between the desks. "To yet more, it simply is, ethics be dammed. I will admit to being in the latter category, and quite happily."

"So now I am going to ask you to indulge my curiosity one last time. I'd like each of you to tell me what you learned this semester. It can be something about class, something about yourself, something about your own ethical outlook, it doesn't matter, so long as you have learned something. In return, feel free to ask me any question you like. I will do my level best to answer you honestly."

Library, Wednesday

Sholeh sailed into the library today, confident of the universe and her place in it (the center, obviously). Glancing at the stack of books to be put away, she laughed and ignored them. She'd get someone to take care of them later--who wouldn't want the opportunity to do her a favor?

Instead, she grabbed a magazine and began flipping through it, comparing herself to the models inside. Ugh. Those poor girls. They didn't even have freckles.

...Hopefully this would wear off soon.

"Well, this is our last class," Jess said, actually looking a little sad about it. "I hope you've all enjoyed it, or at least didn't terribly mind writing book reports. And for your final, we're going to have..."

This break was spent doing a drumroll on her desk with her hands.

"...oral presentations!" she announced happily. "When it's your turn, you'll get up here just to say which book we've covered was your favorite, and why. And then you get to sit down, and I hope you all have a great Christmas and come back in January not having forgotten everything!"

"Hey," Josh said, drinking from his coffee. "Anyone else spend most of yesterday convinced you were God's gift to humanity?"

Donna called that "Wednesday" for Josh and would have been stunned to learn he had further layers of self-involvement.

"Anyway, here's your final. You guys have been a lot of fun--I'll be teaching a class next semester about how great it is to be President of the United States. You know you want to sign up."

With that, he passed out their exams.
