The desk was back at the front of the room this week, with the students' chairs wherever they cared to put them. The food was covered, this time with identical silver lids.

When everyone was listening, Hannibal stood behind the table and spoke.

"While I like to think that food can truly be an art form, I am well aware that not everybody shares that opinion. Nor does everybody have that option. Art, preference, culture - many things affect how we think of food. One of those is economics. Availability." He looked at them all seriously. "Not everybody gets the best food. Not everybody gets food they can eat. Some people are lucky if they get anything."

He gestured at the dishes. "So. Each of you gets one of these. No peeking. When you each have your own, we'll uncover them all. If you don't like what you have, feel free to try to get something else. Barter, bargain, trade, give away, or steal, whatever you like, remembering that you may still need to see each other later. Consider this a hands-on experience."

[OOC: If you play and want to do it randomly, just click a dish below and see what you get. But feel free to check them all out and mod your results for the most interesting playing. :) ]

"So, demons," Dean said as greeting for the class. Jumping right on into things. "Where we're from, demons are nasty suckers to deal with. They can possess anyone with a crack in their armor. You want your neighbor's new car? That's a door into you. Only way to keep 'em out is by being one holy sonovabitch or getting yourself inked."

He tugged down his shirt to show the tattoo. Helpfully like he was.

Sam tugged his shirt down to to show his matching tattoo because hey, brotherly solidarity was important and he had to admit, it just looked cool.

"Story goes that the first demon was a human soul tortured by Lucifer until it became twisted and unrecognizable. Which is what hell does when your ass ends up there," Dean said, little inflection going into the words. "Turns you into a demon."

So cheerful!

"If someone gets possessed, there are ways to try to get the demon out, but they're not necessarily fun," Sam said. "Holy water and iron both hurt a demon, but they can also hurt the person the demon is possessing. The best way to get rid of a demon is to perform an exorcism, and the good news is, anyone can do it as long as you know the right thing to say."

"Knowing Latin helps too," Dean chimed in.

"It does, but it's not necessary, as long as you understand the basics of what you're saying," Sam said, "and there's not just one exorcism prayer to use. We've got a stack here for you guys to look at - try them out, see how they sound, and then take whichever one you want. Hopefully you'll never need to use it, but you never know." Winchesters were always so optimistic.

The books were behaving themselves today, which meant that Sholeh could experiment with an idea she'd been tossing around lately--making book displays! She'd taken over two of the study tables to make several displays of "Fun Beach Reads!"

Today's Fun Beach Reads were focused on the ocean. There were YA books about mermaids, a few romance novels that took place on pirate ships, horror novels (some with zombie fish!), and a couple of ocean-based mysteries.

By the time her shift was over, Sholeh had half of the circulation desk covered in books that also could have made the ocean display. She'd been having a lot of fun hunting in the stacks for more theme-appropriate books!

When the class arrived in the Danger Shop today, they'd find themselves in the middle of a divided room. On one side was a small library with computers set up. On the other side, a kitchen. Kitty was going somewhere with this, seriously.

"And this class would be ont he care and feeding of bamfs," she began, ignoring the bamfs running around between people's legs. "Literally on the feeding part. When you have a pet who doesn't exactly fit the norm, you might end up struggling a little to figure out what you're supposed to feed them. Or, if you're taking care of someone who transformed, you might find out that they're supposed to be eating say, small rodents, or something. If you're squeamish about feeding them that- and not to judge, but you kind of should be- or if you don't want to deal with them yelling at you later about feeding them a mouse or whatever, you have to find alternatives.

"That's what you're going to be doing today. Because programming is a lot of fun, I made sure that between the books and the computers here in the library area, you should be able to find some information on what you can feed your bamf to keep them happy and healthy. I made sure to vary what information you'll find where, so there's not a rush for a certain book and everyone's not trying to get at the same food. And once you've done that, you have to find it in the kitchen- or make it, if you have to- and give it to your bamf. Easy, right? So if there aren't any questions, get to it. Oh, and Stiles, come see me after class?"

She thought she should maybe tell her class that they couldn't just cheat and order a pizza in this situation in real life, but felt like that would be a betrayal.
